City Grants Watershed District “Perpetual Easement” At its November 24 meeting, the Centerville City Council approved the granting of a perpetual easement to the Rice Lake Watershed District on lands in the area of Anoka County Ditch 55.

According to city documents, the perpetual easement will allow the district to “construct, maintain, inspect, repair and reconstruct a portion of the Anoka County Ditch 55 system to convey water across” the land, located just east of County Road 54.

Council Members Linda Broussard Vickers and Michelle Lakso weren’t in attendance at the meeting, making the final tally on this and all other votes 3-0.

In other action, the council…

• Approved the final pay request from Burchville Construction, Inc. for work completed on the 21st Avenue utility and street improvement project for an amount of $30,829.55.

• Approved the second pay request from A.J. Ross for work completed on the repairs of city buildings damaged by storms for an amount of $24,498.

• Approved an on-sale and Sunday liquor license renewal for Kelly’s. As part of the renewal, Kelly’s will be able to pay its annual license fee on a quarterly basis throughout the year, assuming it lives up to the conditions of licensure.

• Approved tobacco license renewals for Kelly’s and CenterMart.

• Approved an Encroachment Agreement requested by Mr. and Mrs. Keith Hembre, property owners at 1641 Dupre Road, allowing them to construct a fence within the right-ofway/ drainage and utility easements in their yard.

• Approved the performance review of Tedd Peterson, Public Works Maintenance Technician. Peterson has worked for the city for nine years.
