Safe And Sober Grant Approved

At its meeting on October 24, Centerville City Council gave its formal approval to a grant agreement with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.

The agreement will see the continuation of the Safe and Sober Communities program.

Earlier this month, during a 10-day Safe and Sober operation, police officers issued 123 seatbelt citations to motorists.

Sergeant Pat Aldrich, from the Centennial Lakes Police Department, told the council meeting that the agreement awarded $30,000 to the program, which aims to tackle driver impairment, juvenile and underage drinking, DWI, speeding and drivers without seatbelts.
