Local Students Will Cut Loose At The Rodeo
HUGO - Forest Lake High School junior Kathleen Dunsmore and her brother, freshman Blake Dunsmore, both feel very at home astride a horse.
"They've probably been riding all their lives," mom Cindy Dunsmore said, "they've always been around horses."

Next weekend, Kathleen (in inset photograph, taken at the rodeo finals in Hugo last year) will be among the 125-150 other students competing in 13 diff erent events at the Minnesota High School Rodeo Finals at Dead Broke Saddle Club Arena in Hugo. If riders are successful, they will head to the high school rodeo national competition in Farmington, New Mexico.

"Hugo Schools" Project Challenges Members
HUGO - Each year, the Hugo Historical Commission puts together a display for Good Neighbor Days - the title of this year's display was "Hugo Schools: Past and Present."
Cynthia Schoonover, one of the major organizers of the display, said the Commission decided to focus on Hugo schools this year because two of the Commission members are former teachers, and because Hugo has had so many diff erent schools.
