By Marcia Faust, Guest Contributor On March 24 my husband Mike and I departed for a 22day tour of China - a long-held dream for him. He had traveled to China on business a number of times in the 80's and early 90's and had always hoped that he could return as a tourist with me by his side.

2008 Carp Fest Fishing Contest Announced

More Than $10,000 In Prizes To Be Awarded

COON RAPIDS - Anglers will vie for more than $10,000 in prizes at the 18th annual Carp Fest fishing contest to be held Saturday, June 7, at the Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park in Coon Rapids.

Hosted by the Anoka County Parks and Recreation Department, the annual event gives fishing enthusiasts of all ages the opportunity to land the wily carp, a fish so strong it can survive a dive over the Coon Rapids Dam.
