LINO LAKES - The brief time it took for 5 "aye" council votes to be cast adopting the 2008 general operating budget for the City of Lino Lakes could be deceiving: the action taken on Dec. 17 represented six months of effort and numerous meetings on the part of city staff and elected officials, and it was all over in a flash.

Lino Lakes YMCA Fills The Gap For Many

Almost 5,000 Members Join In 5 Months

LINO LAKES - Every weekday during the school term, regular as clockwork, the yellow school bus stops off in front of the new YMCA in Lino Lakes.

A stream of 10-15 kids jump off the bus and make their way into the building.

They are heading for the activity center, which turns into a teen zone at 2:45 p.m. every aft ernoon, Monday through Friday.
