Appetizers For The new Year

The New Year approaches— why not try out some new appetizers for the festivities? Your guests will flip over these dips!

Pickle Dip

2 - 8 oz packages of cream cheese lite, softened

1 - 8 oz plastic container of Buddig Beef, chopped

1/2 jar of Milwaukee Midget dill pickles, chopped

4 T pickle juice

Mix together and serve chilled with your favorite crackers.


Chompin’ Chip Dip

1 - 8 oz package of cream cheese lite, softened

1/2 cup Miracle Whip lite

1/2 cup ketchup

1/2 cup skim milk

1 T onion, minced or shredded

Mix ingredients together and serve with chips.


Hot Pizza Dip

1 - 8 oz package cream cheese lite, softened

1 tsp Italian seasonings

1 cup mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup of shredded parmesan cheese

1 cup of spaghetti or pizza sauce

2 oz black olives, sliced

2 oz sliced pepperoni

2 T chopped green peppers

1/4 cup chopped onions

French baguette, sliced for serving In small bowl, mix together cream cheese and seasonings.

Spread mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch pie pan. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese mixture into pan, spread the pizza sauce over all. Sprinkle with remaining cheese, then top with green pepper, pepperoni, onions and olives. Cover with wrap or paper towel and microwave about 5 minutes or until cheese is melted thoroughly. Serve hot with sliced French baguette.


Hot Crab, Jalapeño, & Artichoke Dip

1/2 lb crabmeat

2 - 6.5 cans marinated artichokes, drained & chopped

1 8 oz package of cream cheese, lite

1 cup mayonnaise, lite

1/3 cup of chopped pickled jalapeños

1 tsp of lemon juice

1 T garlic, minced

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 cup mozzarella cheese

1 cup shredded parmesan cheese

1 loaf of whole grain, sour dough or French baguette, sliced for serving

In medium bowl, mix together all ingredients except cheese and bread. Transfer mixture into a 8 x 8 baking dish and top with cheese. Bake in preheated oven at 375 degrees for 30 minutes, or you may bake in crockpot on low setting for about 1 hour or until cheese is melted. Serve with sliced bread of your choice.
