- While many are invited to fish in the vicinity, only one is actually chosen to be in the boat with Minnesota's Governor on the first day of open water angling seasons.

The reason is taught early in Fishing 101: lotsa people make too much boat noise and scare away the fish.

Plan Aims To Preserve Open Space, But Leave Options Open

HUGO - Hugo's 2030 Comprehensive Plan was approved by the City Council on May 5. The long-range planning document, which identifi es the goals, objectives, guidelines and strategies for growth and development in the city of Hugo for the next 20 years, contains a wealth of information about where Hugo has been and where the city is going.

Population statistics, housing plans, land use plans, trail corridor maps, and recreational needs are a few of the components of the plan. However, few of those components have been as contentious as the issue of the future of eastern Hugo.
