Forums Set For Oct. 7 and 14

HUGO / CENTERVILLE - Local citizens in Hugo and Centerville are invited to attend upcoming candidate forums to meet the individuals who have filed for local offices. Local forums are a perfect opportunity to see your future elected officials in action, to pose a question or two, and to visit with candidates over coffee and refreshments after the event is concluded.

The 2006 Hugo Candidate Forum was very well-attended.

City Approves TIF Agreement, Site Plan For Hugo Commons

Takes “Wait-And-See” Approach To Certifi cation Of TIF District

HUGO - At its Sept. 15 meeting, the Hugo City Council approved the site plan and Tax Increment Financing agreement for Hugo Commons, to be located at 13891 Forest Boulevard North on the former End Zone site.

The redevelopment, overseen by Developer Partners Hugo, LLC, will feature the construction of a 23,123-square-foot retail building on the 3-acre parcel. The building will include 12 leased spaces, expected to be used by basic retailers and possibly a restaurant.

HUGO - On September 22, members of the Long Term Recovery Committee, along with city and state officials, held a neighborhood meeting at Oneka Elementary school to update residents affected by the May 25 tornado on services and funds available to them as they continue to try and rebuild their lives following the destructive storm that tore through Hugo four months ago.
