Anoka County Authorizes I-35E/CSAH 14 Interchange Final Design
ANOKA – Rome wasn’t built in a day, and a freeway interchange doesn’t happen overnight, either.
But the Anoka County Board of Commissioners took another giant step forward on the I-35E/CSAH 14 (Main Street) Interchange project earlier this month when it approved the award of the contract for final design to SRF Consulting Group of Minneapolis.
SRF has worked with Anoka County from the initial project study phase through the preparation of preliminary design drawings.

City Wants To Make Roads A Priority
CENTERVILLE - Budget discussions are underway in the city, and much of the talk is centering around roads.
The preliminary Centerville City Council draft budget, which was presented at the city’s July 10 meeting, proposes an increase in the general tax levy of $58,720, or 2.96 percent. For a $200,000 property in Centerville, that would equate to an annual increase of about $60, according to City Administrator Dallas Larson.
“We wanted to keep this budget as tight as we could, without it being unrealistic,” added Larson.

COLUMBUS - The chips are down, the cards are dealt—and the new card room at Running Aces Harness Park is now officially open.
It was novices night on Thursday, July 17, when the grand opening of the card room was held.
It was more a case of beginners’ luck than skilful wagering taking place on the tables in the Pacers’ Atrium as the dealers took time to introduce dozens of invited guests to the finer details of pai gow poker and blackjack.
