Every Kid Mobility Puts Children With Special Needs On Bikes

HUGO - The road to opening Every Kid Mobility in 2005 for Sally Brown was anything but simple.

How she decided to begin this business, which essentially puts kids with special needs—in particular, with cerebral palsy—on bikes, was a journey that began decades before she began the business.

Assisted by Chris Reich, Sally Brown’s son and business partner, ten-year-
old Christian of Minnetonka tried out a bike on the sidewalk adjacent
to Every Kid Mobility’s White Bear Lake store.

Residents Call In Black Bear Sightings

HUGO - Hugo residents have had some unexpected visitors in recent weeks—and they aren’t emus.

Black bear sightings have been reported to Washington County Dispatch at least eight different times in June.

Department of Natural Resources Urban Wildlife Specialist Bryan Lueth says it is common for bear to be on the move this time of year.

Residents have called in numerous sightings of a black bear in
recent weeks. DNR offi cials say it is common for black bear to be

Audit Report: Lino Charter Commissioners Exceeded Authority

LINO LAKES - An independent audit of the Lino Lakes Charter Commission has concluded that various activities conducted by commissioners last fall in the weeks before the general election are not permitted by state statute.

The audit, completed by attorney Michael G. Dougherty of Severson, Sheldon, Dougherty & Molenda, P.A., was initiated by the Lino Lakes City Council last November at the request of the Citizens for Safer Roads group. Dougherty serves as attorney for the cities of Apple Valley and Eagan.

Represented by former Charter Commission member Pat Smith, the group proposed at the council’s October 27, 2008 open mike session that an audit of the commission be conducted.
