Centerville Petitioners Submit Request For State Audit
But Some Residents Wish To Retract Support

CENTERVILLE - It’s taken many hours of door knocking, but the people leading the drive to get a state audit on the city books have done it. Julie Rieman and other members of the Centerville Citizens for Ethical Taxation and Representation group have gathered more than 600 signatures on their petition to get a state audit carried out on the city of Centerville’s financial records.

In Centerville, Mayor Mary Capra, who is seeking re-election, had her van defaced by vandals who spray-painted a profanity onto its side while it was parked outside her home. Although the culprit remains unidentified, it stands to reason that the crime was politically motivated.

LINO LAKES - It was the biggest race of his life, competing for Team USA in Italy in what was Derick Podratz’s first competition outside of Minnesota or Wisconsin.
His response then, when asked how he found the experience, is somewhat surprising.

“It was fun to do and fun to be out there, but it was probably the worst race of my life,” said Podratz, a six-year Lino Lakes resident, recalling the race ruefully.
