HUGO - Following a process that has spanned more than fourteen months, the Hugo City Council is set to discuss the city's 2030 Comprehensive Plan for what might be the final time at its first meeting in May, after the city's Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of a draft version of the plan at its April 10 meeting.

HUGO - It's the last place one would expect to see a raging fire - running along the cattails of a lake shoreline in spring.
But one Hugo homeowner learned the hard way that DNR burning bans are to be taken seriously. An outdoor fire lit in a fire pit on the shore of Egg Lake to burn a pile of poison sumac branch trimmings threw a spark into the cattails a few feet away.

CENTERVILLE - There was not much good news at the latest update on the progress of Centerville's downtown redevelopment project. "It's a tough time in the real estate market right now," project manager Ron Mehl, representing the Beard Group, told the Centerville City Council in a workshop session April 23.
He was outlining the progress made on phase one of the plans for development, which was due to start this year.
