A Soldier's Welcome
Welcome, Welcome! To National Guardsman
Home From Iraq; At Home In HugoCaptain John Flor returned last week from a 22-month deployment in Iraq, and his neighbors wanted to welcome him home on two fronts: first, as a returning soldier - and second, as a new Hugo resident.
Neighbors wrote welcome home messages on a huge sign all last week. On the day National Guard Captain Flor came home, it was prominently displayed on the backstop at Arbre Park.
Flor's family was building a home in Hugo's Victor Gardens neighborhood when he was deployed as part of the 1st Brigade Combat Team of the 34th Infantry Division.
