This Issue's Statistic: There were two hit-and-run accidents in Hugo since our last publication.

Hunting 'Em Down: Several gutted geese and deer were found in the woods in the 12000 block of Irish Ave. N. on Dec. 11 at 2:50 p.m. The DNR was contacted and handled the call.

Gone In A Flash: On Dec. 12 at 2:20 p.m. someone left their vehicle unlocked and running while they went in to use a restroom at a Holiday gas station on Hwy. 61. When the complainant came out, the car was missing. The vehicle was located at Nadeau's Market at 140th and Forest Blvd. N. Two digital cameras, a laptop, and the car stereo were stolen. The complainant was going to call police back with serial numbers.

Leaving No Stone Unturned: At 12:58 p.m. on Dec. 13 someone from 149th St. N. and Fair Point called to report a suspicious person. Police located an individual who said that they were "looking for agates." The officer on-scene asked the individual to leave the property since it was privately owned.

Out To Pasture: On December 14 at 8:46 a.m. a truck traveling westbound on 132nd St. N. near Homestead fishtailed out of control on the ice and hit a wire fence guarding a pasture. The only damage to the vehicle was a missing front license plate.

You Haven't Got Mail: On December 15 at 5:01 p.m. someone in the 12000 block of Ingersoll Ave. N. called to report that they hadn't received any mail that day but that their neighbor had received some letters. They said that the post office had told them to file a police report.

Not Seeing Straight: Someone was cited at 165th St. N. and Forest Blvd. N. on December 16 at 4:12 a.m. for a correctional lens violation. They were also given citations for expired tabs, underage consumption, and minor consumption.

Printing Problems: A large object "the size of a dishwasher" was blocking the roadway at 157th St. N. and Ingersoll Avenue N. at 9:11 p.m. on December 16. It turned out to be a computer printer.

Something The Cat Dragged In: A cougar or a bobcat was sighted at 147th St. N. and Geneva Ave. N. on December 19 at 7:51 p.m.

No Presence for You: At 1:03 p.m. on December two males were reportedly selling gift certificates in the 5500 block of 157th Way N. They were gone upon police arrival.

Wrestling With The Truth: A large group of juveniles were reportedly fighting in the new park at 145th St. N. and Goodview Ave. N. on December 20 at 4:18 p.m. When police arrived and ID'ed everyone, the teens told the officers that they had been wrestling.

The Issue's Not Up In The Air: Some power lines were down on 177th St. N. east of Hwy. 61 on December 22 at 6:53 p.m. One of the lines was sparking and there was a small flame near some pine trees. The Hugo Fire Department and the power company arrived on-scene to take care of it.

To Take A Chair: A large chair was reportedly in a lane of 130th St. N. near Highway 61 on December at 7:15 p.m. Police were unable to locate the object upon arrival.

Taken For A Ride?: At 5:03 a.m. on December 23 someone called from the 13000 block of Europa Trail Way N. to report a problem with a cab driver. Apparently the driver was asking for more money than the fare and refused to let the complainant out of the vehicle until the amount was paid. When police arrived, the bill was paid in full but the complainant wanted the incident documented.

To Get Off On The Wrong Foot: There was a K-9 assist in the 6900 block of 125th St. N. on December 23 at 8:37 a.m. A male suspect was being investigated on a suspicious vehicle call and he fled when police arrived. Some neighbors saw him running and he eventually gave himself up. He had a gross misdemeanor warrant for theft.

This Issue's Statistic: There was one incident of siphoning gas from a vehicle since our last publication.

Part And Parcel Of Holiday Theft?: At 12:13 p.m. on December 11, a female in a red-colored older Ford Taurus took a package that was delivered to the front stoop of a house in the 600 block of Lois Lane.

Right Away: A property damage accident occurred in the 7500 block of Lake Drive on December 12 at 7:03 p.m. Two vehicles collided when they were both making a right turn onto Lake Drive. One of the drivers was cited for not having insurance. No injuries were reported..

A Non-Palatable Crime: Twenty-five pallets were stolen from a loading dock in the 2300 block of Main Street sometime during night hours on December 12.

Trail-ing Behind: A vehicle struck the back of a trailer in the 7500 block of Lake Drive at 5:17 p.m. on December 13. No injuries were reported.

Bobcat Sighting: A bobcat that was being pulled onto a trailer suddenly came out into traffic at Birch St. and Lakota Trail at 6:37 p.m. on December 14. A vehicle was unable to stop in time and rear-ended another vehicle. No injuries were reported.

March (Away) Of The Penguins: A snow globe with a penguin in it was stolen from a residence in the 6600 block of Clearwater Creek Dr. on December 15.

Stop! In The Name Of Law: On December 20 a juvenile male was stopped in the 7900 block of Lake Drive at 10:17 p.m. for a stop sign violation. He was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. The next day another vehicle collided with a stop sign in the 2000 block of Main St. at 7:33 a.m. No injuries were reported.

Pole's Apart: A vehicle slid into the ditch in the 6100 block of Hodgson Road on December 21 at 3:09 p.m. The car hit a power pole.

Iron's (Not) Out Of The Details: At 3:38 p.m. on December a vehicle slid off the road in the 300 block of Main St. and hit some iron lawn ornaments. No injuries were reported.

Doesn't Resonate With Us: Four males were arrested on December at 8:49 p.m. for the possession and detonation of an explosive device in the 6800 block of Black Duck Circle. Three were taken to the Juvenile Center and one was taken to the jail for booking.

(W)Rung Out: Sometime on December 22, a vehicle ran over an aluminum extension ladder that had fallen off of another vehicle in the 6100 block of I35E. No injuries were reported.
