A Different Caliber Altogether: There was a gun sighting reported at 5:36 p.m. on March 9 in the 14000 block of Geneva Ave. N. Two men were standing in a driveway with pistols and were waving the guns around, shooting at a target on the garage. Officers found out that the males were using air guns and advised them to stay on their property.

Heavy Metal Review?: There was a mailbox blown up in the 13000 block of Keystone Ave. N. at 5:56 p.m. on March 10. Some metal was found embedded in the newspaper in the box.

Throwing Away Money: Someone witnessed a driver of a small black car throw some coins at a silver SUV at 10:55 p.m. on March 13 on I-35.

Not Old School Crime: There was a disturbance at Hugo Elementary School on Francesca Ave. N. at 2:43 p.m. on March 16. Two juveniles were seen riding dirt bikes on the grass.

Paws-ing To Collect Prints: There was a suspicious vehicle seen several times in the 7900 block of 147th St. N. at 4:17 p.m. on March 17. It was a blue mini-van with paw prints on it. (Someone had their paws all over that incident!)

What, Unfortunately, Doesn't Lie In Store For Them: Someone was locked out of their car at 11:54 a.m. on March 18 at Festival Foods on Victor Hugo Blvd. N.

"99 Bottles Of Beer In The Yard": There was a dumping complaint in the 9300 block of 130th St. N .at 12:07 p.m. on March 19. Three bags of emptied alcohol containers were found and there were some names on pieces of the rubbish that deputies were going to try to contact.

Flat-Out Robbed: A flat screen TV worth around $800 was taken from a residence in the 13000 block of Fountain Ave. N. at 11:49 p.m. on March 19.

As They Say, "Have You Driven A Ford Lately?": A bent "125th St. N." road sign was discovered at 1:03 p.m. on March 20 on Illies Ave. N. A vehicle had apparently run it over and the driver had fled the scene. A Ford emblem was found with some broken glass by the post.

That's The Last Straw: There was a juvenile complaint at Superior Market, formerly Nadeau's Market, on Forest Blvd. N. at 6:23 p.m. on March 20. Some teens were caught using straws to drink pop out of the soda fountain machine and they were making a mess. They were asked to leave.

"More (Prison) Bars In More Places": Some suspicious activity was reported at 1:48 a.m. on March 21 in the 17000 block of Forest Blvd. N. There was a vehicle in a driveway with its headlights off and its taillights on. The driver said that he was an AT&T employee collecting tower signal data and apologized for scaring anyone.

Tryin' To Steak Out What Wasn't Theirs: Two males in a red cherry-colored blazer were told that they were trespassing and asked to leave Carpenter's Steakhouse on Forest Blvd. N. at 5:27 p.m. on March 21. The business said that they'd had problems with the men in the past.

No One Over-seaing This: Some suspicious phone calls were reported at 11:22 a.m. on March 22 in the 4300 block of Victor Path. The complainant said that about one month ago someone had called from overseas to get some credit information and had hung up when he started asking questions. He said that the overseas number was disconnected when he them called back.

No Bull: A loose animal was reported at 132nd St. N. and Goodview Ave. N. at 1:11 p.m. on March 22. The complainant thought the animal was either a yak or a bull. Police were unable to locate this animal.

It's A Driveway, Not A Parkway: Someone near Empress Way N. and County Rd. 8 complained at 1:37 a.m. on March 22 that there were vehicles blocking his driveway. His neighbor was having a party and said he had not been aware of the problem. The neighbor was cooperative and had the drivers move their vehicles. Eleven cars were moved in all.


Lino Lakes Police Reports

This Issue's Statistic: There was one equipment violation in Lino Lakes since our last publication. Not What They Mean When They Say, "Let Everyone Shine": A 24-year-old male was cited for a fourth degree DWI and for failure to dim his headlights in the 1600 block of Birch St. at 3:50 a.m. on March 16.

Bad Hard Rock: Someone threw a rock at a vehicle in the 6400 block of Lakota Tr. sometime during night time hours on March 19, causing the rear window to break. This also happened in the 6600 block of Sandhill Dr. but it was a house and occurred during the day.

Chain Reaction: Sometime on March 24 officers responded to a possible burglary in the 400 block of Lilac St. It turned out that the suspects didn't gain entrance into the building, but did damage to a chain in the yard area.

Pet Peeve: At 10:37 a.m. on March 24 there was a report of a loose dog in the 6000 block of Sargent Ct. The owner was subsequently cited for being in violation of the city's ordinance.
