This Issue's Statistic: There was one assault since our last publication.
Honk If You Know Who Did It: At 12:13 p.m. on March 20, 18-20 dead geese were found on the side of Harrow Ave. N. at 157th, east of the intersection. The DNR was contacted.
To Take Turns: A green van was reportedly driving extremely slowly, pulling into driveways and turning around in the 9000 block of 122nd Ave. N. at 10:11 p.m. on March 20.
The Cutting Edge: A large machete-style knife was found in the park in the 14000 block of Glenbrook Ave. N. on March 23 at 10:29 a.m.
Tired Of The Accusations: Someone called to report a drunk male at 145th and Goodview at 6:58 p.m. on March 23. Police located the individual who said that he was not drunk but had been shredding tires all day and was having a Coke.
Their Cup Runneth Over: There was flooding in the street in the 14000 block of Fitzgerald Ave. N. on March 24 at 3:03 p.m. A water main had broken and Public Works was contacted.
To Drive To Distraction: A Ford truck and two dirt bikes were seen driving erratically on the gravel portion of Homestead Ave. on March 24 at 3:42 p.m. Police observed two off-road bikes and found that the drivers did not have licenses or registered insurance. They received verbal warnings.
Hole-in-One Window: At 7:13 p.m. on March 25 a rear window of a vehicle in the 14000 block of Fitzgerald Ave. N. was damaged by some individuals who were golfi ng across the street. Police found a golf ball near the car.
A Rude Awakening: At 1:14 a.m. on March 31, someone from the 13000 block of Flay Ave. N. called to report a possible attempt at residential burglary. The caller had been sleeping and had heard someone pulling on their patio door. When they awoke and checked on it, the patio door was still locked but the screen door was open.
Too Late For Groundhog Day: Someone saw a shadow in their backyard at 1:43 a.m. on March 31 in the 5100 block of 158th St. N. Police were unable to locate anyone.
In Like A Lion - Out Like A Rock: There were numerous vandalism reports with rocks between March 31 and April 1. At 10:36 p.m. on March 31 someone from the 14000 block of Garden Way N. called to report that a rock had been thrown through a window of their vehicle. Th ree minutes later someone in the 5700 block of 159th Circle N. called to report the same thing. On April 1 at 10:25 a.m. someone in the 6100 block of 145th St. N. called to report that a stone had been pitched through their windshield. At 11:21 a.m. that same day someone called to say that a soft ball-sized rock had smashed one of their windows on their vehicle. Finally, a window in a vacant house in the 13000 block of Geneva Ave. N. was smashed out by a rock sometime on April 1.
The Hard Cell: A vehicle was seen crossing the fog line repeatedly at 170th and Forest Blvd. N. on April 1 at 6:30 p.m. The car did not stop for the emergency squad lights or the siren at first. When police finally pulled the driver over, they said they had been on their cell phone. Police issued a citation for careless driving.
Like A Ton of Bricks: $2225 worth of building supplies was stolen from a construction job site in the 4800 block of 149th St. N. sometime between March 29 and April 2. Th e theft was reported at 7:27 a.m. on April 2.
Out In Th e Cold: Someone was locked out of their vehicle in the 5100 block of Fairpoint Dr. N. on April 3 at 8:15 a.m.
Hot-Stone Sober: Two males were seen acting suspiciously and taking landscaping ornaments from Ricci's Saloon at 9:34 a.m. on April 2 and then loading them into a white Corsica. The ornaments were lava rocks 2 feet in diameter. It turns out that the men had permission from the owners of the bar to take the rocks.
Stick In The Mud: On April 3 at 5:02 p.m. an older gray Dodge was seen speeding. It then went off the road in the 4600 block of Fable Hill Pkwy N. The caller said that it appeared to be stuck in some mud.
To Change The Subject: Some loose change, a checkbook, a driver's license, and a check card were stolen from a car at Festival Foods on Victor Hugo Blvd. N. on April 4 at 12:15 p.m.
Lino Lakes Police Reports
This Issue's Statistic: There were four bicycles found since our last publication. On March 23 at 6:33 a.m. a Next bike was found in the 500 block of Birch St. On March 29, a Magna bike was found in the 6100 block of Oakwood Lane at 7:18 p.m. On March 30, one BMX bike was found in the 200 block of Plum Lane at 10:53 a.m., and another BMX was found in the 100 block of Elm St. three minutes later.
You Know The Drill?: On March 22 during nighttime hours, someone stole a cordless drill, a 10-inch miter saw, and 13-inch television, a snowboard, and a garage door remote from a garage in the 6700 block of Black Duck Dr.
Take That!: Two 19-year-old females were arrested for shoplift ing in the 700 block of Apollo Dr. at 9:50 p.m. on March 27. Under Th e Knife: A 21-year-old male was cited in the 8000 block of I-35E at 11:55 a.m. on March 28 for speed and possession of a 14-inch knife.
Down To A Fine Art: A 27-year-old male was given a fine for not having a valid driver's license, using an unregistered vehicle, and not having proof of insurance. The citation was given at 7:48 a.m. on March 30 at Main Street and Lake Dr.
High Spot: A 20-year-old male was cited for possession of marijuana, driving after suspension, and speed at Hodgson Rd. and Ash St. on March 30 at 11:41 p.m.
Left At The Post: A vehicle struck a mailbox and damaged the post in the 1200 block of Birch St. at 5:21 a.m. on March 31.
Not Lighting The Way: An 18-year-old male was cited for operating a bicycle without a front light at Hodgson Rd. and Egret Lane on April 2 at 1:14 a.m.
