This Issue's Statistic: There were three school bus stop arm violations since our last publication.
Robbing Him Blind: 23 Big Foot duck decoys were taken from a hunting blind in the 6400 block of 165th St. N. on Sept. 22. The decoys were valued at $25 apiece.
Stuck with Public Transportation: A bus full of children became stuck in the mud at 140th St. N. by Victor Hugo Path after swerving to avoid hitting a deer on Sept. 22 at 4:37 p.m. There were no damages or injuries. Police called for a tow.
Stuck In A Rut: Police offered assistance to a motorist at 140th St. N. and Flay Ave. N. on Sept. 23 at 5:25 a.m. Apparently the person was delivering papers and thought that there was a puddle in the middle of the road. It instead turned out to be a large pothole and the vehicle became stuck. Police barricaded the hole.
A Stone's Throw: At 2:00 p.m. on Sept. 26 someone in the 15000 block of Irish Ave. N. called to report that someone had attempted to steal the large field stone at the end of their driveway. They were requesting extra patrol of the area.
Birds Of A Feather Escape Together: At noon on Sept. 27 someone saw two male peacocks in the 13000 block of Manning Trail, about a mile north of Square Lake Trail. They were gone when police arrived on the scene.
Stain Remover: At 1:18 p.m. on Sept. 29 someone called to report that a 20-year old white male had a ladder up next to the neighbor's house. When police checked on the suspicious activity, they found out that the male was doing deck cleaning and staining.
The Scoop On Tailgating: A man in a Ford Taurus was tailgating someone with his highbeams on at midnight on Sept. 30 westbound on Frenchman Rd. The complainant went to the Dairy Queen parking lot but police were unable to locate the driver.
A Turn For The Worse: A mini-van was parked the wrong way on Forest Blvd N. near County Road J on Oct. 1 at 7:52 p.m. The complainant said that the car was blinding oncoming motorists.
What Is Good For The Goose Is Not Good For The Neighbor: At 11:16 p.m. on Oct. 1, someone from the 5600 block of 140th St. N. called to say that a man outside had been blowing a duck caller for the past 90 minutes. When police arrived, the man told them that he had been practicing his goose call but that he wouldn't do it any more that night. (Such fowl play!)
Leaked Information: At 3:52 p.m. on Oct. 2 someone in the 14000 block of Geneva Ave. N. called to report that a truck had dumped something into the dirt near her yard and that it now smelled like rotten eggs or propane. She couldn't find evidence of an illegal chemical spill but she wanted police to see if they could find out what had leaked into the ground.
Why Did the Cow Cross the Road?: On Oct. 4 at 10:55 a.m. a cow-at-large was reported at Ostrum Trail N. near Jeffrey Ave. N. (Ten-four: he made it to the other side.)
"Curb Your Enthusiasm": On Oct. 5 at 6:33 p.m. a vehicle on Frenchman Rd. near Victor Hugo Blvd. entered a closed-off area. Instead of backing out, the driver jumped the curb, which was not yet dry, and the concrete cracked, causing $300 worth of damage.

This Issue's Statistic: There were two vehicles tampered with since our last publication.
Poetic License?: On Sept. 20 at 5:17 p.m. a 21-year old male was arrested in the 900 block of Main Street after giving police false information about himself and driving with a revoked license. The 18-year-old passenger was also arrested for obstructing the legal process. Both were transported to Anoka County Jail.
"More Heat than Light": Fifteen solar lights and a paving stone were taken from a yard in the 6900 block of LaMotte Dr. sometime in the night on Sept. 21. The unknown suspects also left some construction debris.
In the Heat of the Moment: A cast iron pot belly stove was taken off of a parked trailer in the 1200 block of Main St. sometime during the night of Sept. 23. There was not an estimated value given.
Short Cut: There were two reports of lawn vandalism on Sept. 24 and 25. One of the vandalism reports occurred in the 800 block of County Road Lakes Dr. and the second one occurred in the 900 block of Main Street. Both occurred during night hours.
Pole Vault: A vehicle left the roadway and struck a power pole at 7:05 p.m. on Sept. 28. No injuries were reported in this property damage accident in the 6300 block of W. Holly Dr.
That's What You Call A Bad Start To The Day: A 46-year-old female driver and a 42-year-old male passenger were arrested on Sept. 29 at 2:55 a.m. in the 2400 block of I-35W on Sept. 29. The female did not have insurance and the male had an outstanding warrant. Both did not have permanent addresses so were also booked for vagrancy.
Signs Of The Times: There were three thefts of political signs in the last weekend of Sept. One occurred in the 1100 block of South Trappers Crossing, one occurred in the 7100 block of Mourning Dove Rd., and one occurred in the 100 block of Fairmont Dr. These all occurred during evening hours.
Fire Away: A 44-year-old male was cited for leaving a recreational fire unattended in the 700 block of Deerwood Circle at 10:26 a.m. on Oct. 1.
Lost, Then Found: A report of a found girl's bicycle was made at 9:22 a.m. on Oct. 3 in the 1100 block of Birch Street. The bike was placed in the PD Property Room for theowner to claim. Stolen, Not Lost: A report of a theft of two dirt bikes was made on Oct. 3 after unknown suspect(s) stole the bikes from the 7700 block of Lake Drive sometime during the night hours.
