This Issue's Statistic: One person called the Washington County Sheriff's office since our last publication to request extra patrol since their house was going to be empty while the family was out of town.

Feelin' Left Out: Someone reported that they thought some juveniles may have been locked out of their residence in the 6000 block of 150th St. N. at 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 19. The juveniles' father came home and let the children into the house.

Tow, Tow, Tow Your Boat: At 4:52 p.m. on Feb. 19 someone was pulled over in the 17500 block of Forest Blvd. for not having safety chains on the trailer they were using to tow a boat. Officers also found that this driver did not have insurance and possessed some drug paraphernalia. They were cited appropriately.

Right On The Money: Someone in the 6000 block of 145th Circle N. called at 7:09 p.m. on Feb. 20 to report they may have been involved in an Internet scam. They said that a party from UK Financial Security had told them that they had won a 3.2 million dollar lottery and that they needed their personal info to send the cash. This person gave them their MN driver's license information. Police advised the caller to notify their bank and keep watch on their accounts.

That (*Beep*) Beep Noise Is An Alarm: There was an unknown beeping noise in the 14000 block of Finale Ave. N. at 8:18 a.m. on Feb. 21. The fire department was not called since there didn't appear to be a fire.

It Makes Cents: There was a water heater that was flooding a house in the 14000 block of Geneva Ave. N. at 4:40 p.m. on Feb. 21. A plumber had been called in, and apparently forgot to shut off the valve when installing a new water softener. The attending officer shut off the valve. No damages were reported.

What A Load Of Garbage: On Feb. 25 at 7:32 a.m. a complaint was made by a school bus company regarding a dumping that had become a road hazard. Buses couldn't get by the garbage, which was strewn all over Elmcrest Ave. N. on the north side of Bald Eagle Lake. When officers arrived, city of Hugo public works personnel were on site and were picking up the debris.

Issue About To Be Tackled In The End Zone: At 2:31 p.m. on Feb. 25, someone in the 13000 block of Flay Ave. N. reported a suspicious male who they thought had been watching homes in the area and loitering in yards. Neighbors had similar reports. The suspicious person had parked a truck in the End Zone bar lot at this time and was seen walking in the woods in the area. No one had a description of the truck, the person or the license plate number at the time of the call.

A Dog's Life: A white German Shepherd and a grey German Shepherd were seen loose on Goodview Ave. N. near 151st St. N. at 9:45 p.m. on Feb. 25.

Steamed Up About The Issue: Someone called at 7:11 a.m. on Feb. 27 from the 12000 block of Ingersoll Ave. N. to report a suspicious vehicle. The driver, who was found in an older maroon Oldsmobile, told officers they were waiting for their car to warm up and their windows to defrost.

All Together, Now - Let's Hear It For ".08 in '08!": Someone called at 3:33 p.m. on Feb. 27 to report that there was a drunk woman at a private club on 140th St. N. who appeared as though she might have been attempting to drive home. Police were unable to locate this person.

The Hoarse Whisperer: Some suspicious activity was reported at 8:15 p.m. on Feb. 27 at a business in the 5600 block of 147th St. N. Two men and one woman apparently got in line, then went out to the car to get more money, then came back in and went to the back of the line. They were whispering between themselves. When deputies confronted them, they apologized and said that they hadn't meant to scare anyone.


Lino Lakes Police Reports


This Issue's Statistic: There were two radios stolen from vehicles in Lino Lakes since our last publication.

A Prescription For Disaster: Officers arrested a 30-year-old female and a 24-year-old female for prescription forgery, fifth degree possession of a controlled substance, and theft in the 700 block of Apollo Drive at 3:19 p.m. on Feb. 19. Both women were transported to the jail.

Behind One's Back: At 9:59 a.m. on Feb. 20, someone backed their car out of their driveway in the 1000 block of Lantern Lane and collided with another vehicle. No injuries were reported. On Feb. 27, a similar property damage accident occurred in the 600 block of Town Center Pkwy when a driver backed into another parked vehicle at 10:12 a.m. Again, no injuries were reported.

No Longer Entitled: A 47-year-old female was cited for equipment violation, not having insurance and failure to transfer vehicle title at 9:36 a.m. on Feb. 23 at I-35E and Main St.

Watching The Last Season: An owner of a construction trailer was cited on Feb. 24 for violating a city ordinance on seasonal parking on the city streets.

Not Shedding The Negative Image: A delayed report of a theft of a Northern Hydraulic generator from a shed in the 100 block of Egret Lane occurred on Feb. 25.

No Depth Of Character: Sometime during the daytime hours of Feb. 25, police responded to a report of a burglary in the 100 block of Greenbrier Dr. when an unknown suspect kicked in a garage door and removed a Strike Master auger and a Vexlar depth finder.
