Hugo Police Reports
This Issue's Statistic: There was one hidden camera installed in a living room in a residence to secretly monitor activity since our last publication.
A Real Gem: Someone stole over $ 000 worth of jewels from a residence in the 6000 block of 177th St. N. on Oct. 6 at 2:27 p.m. They also took a stereo, a television set, a computer and a printer.
Parking Car-ma: A vehicle was removed from a parking lot in the 14000 block of Forest Blvd. N. at 8:40 a.m. on Oct. 7. The lot needed to be cleared.
On The Fly: At 8:17 a.m. on Oct. 10, a helicopter was reportedly fl ying low for five minutes over the 5000 block of Goodview Trail N.
Does It Ring A Bell?: An old brass train bell with red paint was reported stolen from the back of a building in the 5000 block of 1 0th St. N. on Oct. 10 at 1:12 p.m. The bell weighed 280 pounds. Police spoke to some individuals at a recycling center but they responded that they hadn't seen it.
Shedding Light Outside The Box: A planter box, a lightpost, and a port-o-potty were knocked over in the 14000 block of Forest Blvd. N. sometime during evening hours on Oct. 10. The complainant suspected skateboarders were responsible for the vandalism.
No More To Spare: At 1:22 p.m. on Oct. 1 four tires and four rims were stolen off of a Dodge Stratus in the 14000 block of Forest Blvd. N. A rear taillight assembly was also taken. The value was estimated to be $575.
C'Mon Baby, Light My Fire: On Oct. 1 at 8:51 p.m. someone from an SUV set a very small item on fi re in front of a residence in the 5000 block of 135th St. N. The fi re went out and police were not able to make out what had been burned.
Ding-Dong Ditching: Juveniles were ringing doorbells and running away at 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 1 at 128th and Forest Blvd. N. Police were unable to locate anyone. (A Friday the 13th prank?)
Leaving A Scent Behind: Smoke was reported to be seen off of Hwy. 61 at County Rd. 8 on Oct. 15 at 11:01 a.m. Police located a man burning leaves in his backyard. He put out the fire with a garden hose.
Making an Impact: Police gave a presentation to 18 kids on Oct. 16 at 6:22 a.m. at a daycare facility at 141st. St. N. and Forest Blvd. N. They discussed safety planning with seatbelts and crossing the street.
Missing the Boat?: Someone from the 15000 block of Forest Blvd. N. called at 8: 9 a.m. on Oct. 16 to report that an abandoned boat was sitting on their lot. Police told them that they could remove it from their property if they desired since the owner had not come to get it fixed.
Refus-ing to Clean Up?: Two individuals were reportedly trying to pry open a dumpster just off Hwy. 61 by Hwy. 8 at 9:42 p.m. on Oct. 18. Police investigated and found the building secure. The suspects ended up being part of the cleaning crew for a local business.
Blown Away by the Noise: At 10: 6 p.m. on Oct. 18, someone at 140th and Flay Ave. N. reported that juveniles were running through the woods and making a loud humming noise. When police investigated, they found that the teens were vacuuming out their vehicle. The juveniles agreed not to make any more noise that evening.
Lino Lake Police Reports
This Issue's Statistic: There were three deer hit in Lino Lakes since our last publication.
Cable Watcher: A homeowner interrupted a burglary taking place at :0 p.m. on Oct. 4 in the 7500 block of 20th Ave. The suspect was attempting to remove 100 feet of feeder cable.
Out of Turn: An 18-year-old male was cited for failing to yield the right-of-way when he turned in front of a semi at 5:12 p.m. on Oct. 5 in the 600 block of Main Street. No injuries were reported.
To Add...Furniture to the Fire: An officer responded to a call at 6: 7 p.m. on Oct. 6 in the 200 block of Palomino Lane. Upon arrival, the offi cer found a fire with furniture items being burned. A 45-year-old man was finally located and cited for the illegal burn.
To Pick and Choose One's Direction: A property damage accident occurred at I-35E and Main St. on Oct. 7 at midnight when the driver reached for a Kleenex and lost control of the vehicle. The car went into the ditch but there were no injuries reported.
To Walk Away: A man was observed walking on the side of the road in the 600 block of Main St. at 6:11 a.m. on Oct. 7. After questioning him, the attending officer found that the man had driven his vehicle off the road in Ham Lake. The 29-year-old was arrested for disorderly conduct, obstructing the legal process, and providing false information and was then transported to Anoka County Jail.
The Party's Over: Two 18-year-old males in the 7100 block of Whippoorwill Lane were arrested for underage consumption and fl eeing police officers on foot after a party on Oct. 8 at midnight. Five other juveniles were also cited for underage consumption at the party.
As Far As One Can See: A checkbook, a pair of binoculars and a garage door opener were removed from an unlocked motor vehicle parked in the 100 block of Elm St. sometime during the night of Oct. 9. (Hopefully this will be an open and shut case.)
An Unexpected Turn of Events: A property damage accident occurred in the 6100 block of Woodchuck Circle at 7:47 a.m. on Oct. 10 when the driver reached for something in the back seat and went off the roadway.
Those Who Trespass Against Us: Three 17-year-old males were arrested on Oct. 11 at 10:1 p.m. for trespassing and burglary in the 100 block of White Pine Road.
