Not Fresh Off the Boat: There was a dumping complaint at 7:10 a.m. on July 15 on 175th St. N. just east off of Highway 61. A boat which was loaded down with garbage was dumped in the roadway. The Minnesota registration for the boat was too old to determine who might be the owner or one responsible for the dumping.
There are no suspects at this time.
Cock-a-Doodle-Don’t: There was a noise complaint at 10:23 a.m. on July 15 in the 17000 block of Farnham Ave N. Some roosters were being very loud and there was a concern that the animals were possibly involved in cock fighting since they were reportedly missing some feathers. The owner told police the roosters were not involved in any animal fighting.
Not Up To Par: There was a vandalism report in the 5000 block of 120th St. N. at 5:43 a.m. on July 21. Holes #6 and #7 and their respective greens had been damaged at Oneka Ridge golf course. Th ere are no suspects at this time.
Doggone Animals At Large: Someone in the 4000 block of Fable Hill Parkway called at 2:40 p.m. on July 21 to inquire about dog ordinances. The caller had been rollerblading when a large black dog had apparently made him fall down. He did not want to speak to the owner but wanted the incident noted with the Sheriff ’s office.
Project Run(a)way: A suspicious gold and tan Buick was located at 159th St. N. and Forest Blvd. N. at 10:12 p.m. on July 28. The registered owner had apparently gone running but this person agreed to find a different spot to park next time they wanted to jog that late.
Pining For Them?: Four suspicious males were supposedly hiding in the pine trees in the 5000 block of Egg Lake Road at midnight on July 29, but could not be located.
Kindl(in)y Mind Your Own Business: A burning complaint came in at 2:59 p.m. on July 27 from the 15000 block of Forest Blvd. N. Officers found individuals on scene with a small kindling fire and let them know that what they were doing was perfectly legal.
Insuring The Cops Will Come: There was a report of some suspicious activity in the 7600 block of 137th St. N. at 10:06 a.m. on July 25. A silver sports car was in the driveway of a vacant house. It turned out that the person inside the house was an insurance adjuster.
More Power To ‘Em?: A parking complaint was filed at 10:18 p.m. on July 29 in the 13000 block of Europa Ct. N. It turned out that the suspicious vehicle was a Hummer and that it was legally parked. (They’re just THAT big!)
Sweet Reward: An officer pulled two young children over at 130th St. N. and Europa Tr. N. at 7:24 p.m. on July 30. The kids had helmets on while they were biking and they were praised and rewarded with apple dipper coupons from McDonalds for the “I Got Caught” campaign.
Their Work Is Cut Out For Them: Six Stihl Chainsaws were stolen from a vehicle at 159th St. N. and Hwy 61 at 7:51 a.m. on August 1. Their value was $1800.
Dirt Cheap: There was a report to check the area of 147th St. N. near Hwy 61 at 12:33 p.m. on August 3. Someone had dumped a dirt load on the road surface and also left a broken broom.
Lino Lakes Police Reports
Pulling A Britney?: Police stopped someone in the 1800 block of I-35W for an improper rear plate light at 3:14 a.m. on July 16. The driver was cited for driving after cancellation. The passenger was issued a citation for a child restraint violation due to his ninemonth-old child lying on his lap.
Literal Sparklers: Someone removed some landscaping lights and blew them up with fireworks at a residence in the 7800 block of Nottingham Lane. The estimated damage was $10.
Alternative Sources Of Fuel?: Eight to ten gallons of gas were taken from a vehicle parked in the 6500 block of LaCasse Dr. sometime on the night of July 22.
Zoning Out: At 1:35 p.m. on July 24 someone was arrested in the 7500 block of Main St. for driving around the construction zone barricade, driving on the wrong side of the road and not having proof of insurance.
Too Cool For School: Someone damaged an air conditioning unit on the roof of the school in the 700 block of Main St. sometime on July 30.
