Hugo Police Reports


Extra! Extra!: Extra patrol was requested at 3:48 p.m. on Jan. 22 in the 12000 block of Irish Ave. N. because the homeowners were going to a funeral. (Apparently it is a common practice for thieves to target homes after reading the obituaries for funeral times, so please be warned. Washington County is willing to honor requests for extra patrol at this time.)

A Bright Flash-er: Some- one was shining fl ashlights into windows in the 15000 block of Forest Blvd. N. on Jan. 22 at 8:21 p.m.

Crank-y Kids:: Someone in the 4300 block of Victor Path called to report that three juveniles were prank-calling their phone at 4:15 p.m. on Jan. 23.

Dr. Pepper?: At 8:24 p.m. on Jan. 23, someone called to report some suspicious activity in the 4900 block of 132nd St. N. They wanted to report that a male party was possibly trying to poison a dog. They said this man had dumped out ground-up red pepper before.

A Drug-Out Search: At 8:18 p.m. on Jan. 24, a K-9 assisted in searching a residence and a motor vehicle in both the 13000 block of Fiona Ave. N. and the intersection of 140th St. N. and Hwy 61. The narcotics investigation resulted in a suspect being arrested for 5th degree possession of methamphetamine and marijuana, and possessing drug paraphernalia.

Taking Great Panes To Stay Quiet: A male with a white baseball cap went into a residence through the window in the 13000 block of Fiona Ave. N. on Jan. 25 at 8:08 a.m. He told police that he was a friend and had not wanted to wake up the woman sleeping in the house at the time.

Foot In The Door?: There was damage to a rear service door of a building in the 5000 block of 152nd St. N. The call came in at 10:33 a.m. on Jan. 28. Footprints from the sus- pect were found on the door and photographs were taken. No en- try was made.

Money Bags: A U.S. Bank bag was found in a ditch just south of Victor Hugo Blvd. and Victor Path on Jan. 29 at 6:24 p.m.

Disappearing Act:A vehi- cle was seen going into the ditch at Goodview at 132nd St. N. on Jan. 29 at 10:37 p.m. When police arrived on scene, it was gone.

"Slow Down, You Move Too Fast": Someone from the intersection of 130th St. N. and Forest Blvd. N. called on Jan. 30 at 3:08 p.m. to ask how to get speed limits reduced. The complainant was told to contact the city.

Prints Of Darkness: At midnight on Jan. 31, a street lamp was pushed over onto a chain link fence and shoe prints and motor vehicle prints led into the woods N. of the Hugo Well- house #3 at 147th St. There was no visible pattern to the tracks and police could not locate a vehicle.

Throwing In The Towel (Rack): A theft of a UPS package was reported from a residence in the 4800 block of 130th St. N. on Jan. 31 at 9:18 a.m. The complainant had been expecting a stainless steel dish rack and a towel rack on the pre- vious Friday at 4 p.m. and they had not arrived. Together, they were worth $100.

Hot Dog?: An Irish Setter was reportedly being left outside at night in the 13000 block of Geneva Ave. N. When police investigated on Jan. 31 at 7:41 p.m., the owner said that the dog was put out to get exercise and that it slept in its outdoor kennel at night. It had apparently been coming inside, however, since the recent cold temperature bout.

Frozen Food?: At 4:49 a.m. on Feb. 2 a suspicious male carrying a plastic bag went to a door in the 5100 block of Fair- point Dr. N. He said that he was cold and asked if he could come inside. When police arrived on scene, he told them he was go- ing to a friend's house. The of- fi cers gave the man a ride to his residence.

Take The Money And. Drive: On Feb. 2 at 7:58 a.m. someone called from 145th and Forest Blvd. N. to report a theft. The complainant had acciden- tally left their wallet and money clip on top of their truck and left their residence. They soon real- ized that the items were miss- ing and turned around. They were able to locate their wallet but the cards were missing. The complainant closed all of their accounts.

Fired Up: Two cars caught on fire in the 14000 block of Irish Ave. N. on Feb. 2 at 3:52 p.m. The complainant apparently could not start one of their cars and had used a torpedo heater on it. The vehicle caught fire and then the flames spread to the second car. The offi cer on scene used the squad fire extinguisher and then assisted Hugo Fire, which responded. Both vehicles were destroyed.

A Real Tool: $1100 worth of tools were taken from the 5600 block of 157th Way N. on Feb. 3 at 1:13 p.m.

No Money, Honey: A purse was reported lost in the 15000 block of Finley Ave. N. on Feb. 3 at 5:48 p.m. The complainant closed all of her accounts.

The Light At The End Of The.Pole: Someone hit a light pole at 149th and Oneka Parkway on Feb. 4 at 3:42 a.m. A suspect was later arrested for underage consumption and leaving the scene of an accident.


Lino Lakes Police Reports


This Issue's Statistic: One mailbox was destroyed in Lino Lakes since our last publication.

No License To Drive: On Jan. 3, a 1-year-old male was arrested at 8:47 p.m. in the 1100 block of Main St. for driving after suspension, speed, and an outstanding warrant. He was transported to Anoka County Jail.

Third Time's Not A Charm: A 3-year-old male was arrested on Jan. 4 at 8: 8 p.m. in the 00 block of Main St. for third-degree DWI and careless driving.

Post-It: On Jan. 5, of- fi cers responded to a property damage accident in the 300 block of Lilac St. During the nighttime hours someone had turned around in a driveway and run into a lightpost and bent it all the way to the ground.

Out Of Whack: At 1:35 a.m. on Jan. 7, a 41-year-old male in the 7300 block of Lake Drive was arrested for 2nd degree DWI and for obstructing the legal process with force.

Down the Line: A vehicle slid off the road and collided with a telephone pole in the 6200 block of Centerville Rd. on Feb. 6 at 10:07 a.m. No injuries were reported.
