This Issue's Statistic:
There was one Apprehension and Detention order in Hugo since our last publication.
Slow Down (in the Dumps):
Some dump trucks were reportedly seen speeding past a residence in the 5900 block of Egg Lake Road on July 26 at 10:09 a.m. Th ese trucks were gone upon police arrival.
So Hot It's Smokin':
There was some smoke from an air conditioner reported at 1:50 p.m. on July 26 in the 6300 block of 151st St. N. This was listed as a possible electrical fire and Hugo Fire was contacted; luckily there were not any flames.
So-da'ts Who It Is:
At 7:48 p.m. on July 26, someone from 138th St. N. and Freeland Ave. N. called to report some problems with juveniles. Apparently several teens were leaving beer and soda cans on the street corner every morning. The complainant thought they were doing it to irritate him.
Pond-ering What Happened:
There was a report on July 26 at 11:57 p.m. of a vehicle with its headlights on in a pond at Oneka Lake Pkwy N. and Frenchman Rd. N. On July 31 at midnight it was determined that the lights that were coming from the pond were not a vehicle but were instead pond lights.
Now That's Really Called "Spinning":
There was a man riding a bike in the 14000 block of Foxhill Dr. N. on July 27 at 2:32 a.m. He did not appear able to walk and the complainant thought he was intoxicated.
Out of the Game:
A burglary was reported in July 27 at 2:55 a.m. in the 5700 block of 147th St. N. Th e back door of the residence had been left wide open and the occupants had forgotten to lock it on July 26. A Nintendo Game system was stolen, along with a camera, some jewelry, a scanner and some computer parts. There is not an estimated value of the belongings at this time.
Left Reeling:
More than $7000 worth of equipment was taken from a pole building in the 14000 block of Irish Ave. N. Th e break-in was reported at 10:47 a.m. on July 27. An aluminum boat, a battery, some fi shing equipment, some reels, life vests, and a motor were among the items stolen.
Marked:
Someone wrote some obscene comments and pictures with a permanent marker onto a company car in the 5300 block of 157th St. N. on July 27 at 11:17 a.m.
Gun Sighting:
Two men with shotguns were reportedly pointing their weapons at the owners of Hugo Auto Parts in the 14000 block of Forest Blvd. on July 27 at 4:37 p.m. Offi cers met with all the employees and searched the salvage yards but no one was located.
Pipe Down:
On July 28 a marijuana pipe was found in the 14000 block of Foxhill Ave. N. at 10:05 a.m.
Up, Down and All Around:
A garage door of a residence in the 4900 block of Gallivan Ct. N. was reportedly up on July 28 at midnight. The owners of the home were out of town and the complainant was concerned. The front door was not secured but there weren't any sign of damage so officers left a notice for the owners.
Getting Schooled:
An SUV was parked in a 'no parking' lane on the north side of School Section Lake on July 29 at 7:17 p.m. There were four males connected to the vehicle who were seen on the lake. Officers were unable to locate the car upon arrival.
A Bone to Pick:
On July 30 at 6:41 p.m. someone reported fi nding a bone on the shore of Bald Eagle Lake. It was 10 inches long and the complainant had been walking on the shore with his father when he thought he stepped on broken glass. Th e bone was put into evidence and then given to the medical examiner's offi ce for inspection. It was later destroyed and determined not to be human.
Tightening the Rains:
Some juveniles were supposedly tampering with the sprinkler system in Diamond Point East Park at 145th St. N. on July 30 at 11:51 p.m. Everything seemed to working fi ne when police arrived.
Who's Afraid of the Big, Bad Wolf ?:
A wolf was seen at 7:36 a.m. on July 31 in the 4000 block of Victor Hugo Blvd. N.
Not Getting Framed:
Copper forms from the frames of five new homes in the 15000 block of Falk Dr. were cut with a saw and other tools. Th is was reported on July 31 at 7:50 a.m. Photos were taken.
Lino Lakes Police Reports
To Go For the Burn:
On July 25 at 7:52 p.m. two males were cited in the 800 block of Country Lakes Dr. for burning prohibited material.
Save Some Life (Jackets):
A prop, three life jackets, a tube with rope, three fi shing rods and a tackle box with fi shing tackle were taken from a boat in the 7500 block of Sunset Ave. sometime during the night hours of July 26.
Getting It Off Your (Tool) Chest:
A Craftsman tool chest containing some tools from a garage in the 6800 block of Lake Drive was taken sometime on July 26.
To Smoke Out:
A juvenile male was arrested for a small amount of marijuana and possession of tobacco in the 1100 block of Birch Street on July 27 at 5:26 p.m.
All (Stereo) Systems Go:
An unknown suspect entered a locked vehicle in the 500 block of Arrowhead Dr. and stole a JVC stereo sometime during night hours on July 28.
Door to (Jail) Door:
An adult male and a juvenile male were arrested in Lino Lakes for solicitation without a city permit in the 6400 block of W. Shadow Lake Dr. on July 29 at 6:31 p.m. Both were transported to Anoka County Jail for booking.
U-Turned Out to be Inattentive:
A vehicle that was making a u-turn struck another vehicle at Otter Lake Road and Tart Lake Road on July 30 at 5:13 p.m. The female driver was cited for unsafe change of course. No injuries were reported.
Starting From Scratch:
On July 31 at 11:33 a.m. one vehicle backed into another in the 7400 block of Village Dr. and caused some scratches on the hit vehicle. The driver left the scene. No injuries were reported.
Addressing the Problem:
A male was arrested in the 7800 block of Lake Drive on August 2 at 10:27 p.m. for 3rd degree DWI, speed and failure to change his address on his driver's license. At the time the officers had been conducting a DWI Task Force project.
Ending Up in the Hole Anyway:
Sometime on August 6 some officers observed a group of individuals in the 700 block of Aqua Lane by the locked gates leading to the golf course. Due to recent vandalisms in the area, they questioned them and subsequently cited one male for illegal window tint, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana in the motor vehicle.
Well.It's Not My Cup of Tea:
Someone broke into a garage in the 500 block of Hawthorn sometime between 4:45 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. on August 3 and removed some alcohol.
A Different Angle on Surveillance:
Someone broke into a storage room in the 7000 block of 21st Ave. on August 4 and removed some surveillance equipment, a laptop computer, and 100 cartons of cigarettes. It was estimated that the burglary took place sometime between 1:40 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. (Too bad that camera wasn't on and in use!)
The Real Deal:
A juvenile was arrested on August 4 at 2:10 a.m. in the 7500 block of Lake Drive for curfew violation and trying to bribe a police officer. The teen was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center and later released to his father.
