Icy Roads, Take Me Home, To The Place I Belong: Someone called to report some icy road conditions on Oneka Lake Blvd. N. just east of Goodview Ave. N. on Dec. 29 at 9:52 a.m. Hugo Public Works was notified.

Prescription For Disaster: Some beer bottles, cigarette packs, a notepad and a prescription pill bottle were found dumped in the 13000 block of Elmcrest Ave. N. at 12:54 p.m. on Dec. 30.

Leaking The Information: At 3:17 p.m. on Dec. 30 there was a report that a blue or black car had been driving slowly in the 12000 block of Irish Ave. N. sometime in the last month. The driver had told the complainant that he worked for NSP and was looking for gas leaks. Since the complainant worked at NSP too, and did not know the individual, he wanted this suspicious activity reported.

Not Putting Up With That Garbage: Some rubbish was found dumped in a construction site dumpster in the 5000 block of 159th St. N. at 9:41 a.m. on Dec. 31. Officers found an address on several items and went to the residence but no one was home.

Rubs People The Wrong Way: A car was parked in the wrong direction in the 1000 block of Empress Ave. N. at 6:23 p.m. on New Year's Eve. The car had Wisconsin plates and was unattended so officers left a citation.

Keep Your Eyes Peeled: A report came in at 12:20 p.m. on Jan. 1 that over six months ago a pair of Coach sunglasses were taken from someone in the 15000 block of Emerald Dr. N. The complainant thought that maybe a boyfriend of one of her sister's friends had taken them. The glasses were valued at $134. The investigation is pending.

Their Beef With The Turkey At Subway: A coat was taken from the Subway sandwich shop on 147th St. N. on Jan. 1 at 2:02 p.m. It was black leather jacket and deputies requested the video security tape from the store's manager.

Cracking Down: Someone was pulled over for a cracked windshield at 147th St. N. and Forest Blvd. N. on Jan. 4 at 10:35 a.m.

Fear Is Not Elementary: Someone wanted to leave the Hugo Elementary School premises on Francesca Ave. N. at 8:27 p.m. on Jan. 4 but noted a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot and was reluctant to leave. It seemed that someone had been using their cell phone and had pulled over to talk. Upon request, the driver agreed to move on.

Getting This Addressed: There was a complaint of a loud party at Foxhill Ct. N. and Granada Ave. N. at 11:01 p.m. on Jan. 5. Officers could not locate the residence because this was not a real address.

One Bad Apple: There was a parking complaint in the 4500 block of 158th St. N. on Jan. 6 at 5:56 p.m. A Best Buy Geek Squad vehicle had been parked in a spot on the street for 36 hours. The complainant was concerned about a violation of the parking ordinance.

Keep Your Friends Close And Your Enemies Closer: Someone was pulled over at 10 a.m. on Jan. 7 for traveling too closely to another vehicle at 130th St. N. and Forest Blvd. N. Deputies found that the driver had a license violation and possessed marijuana and cited the person for these infractions, also.

Not Taking The Bait: A call was placed for a trespassing concern at 11:59 a.m. on Jan. 7. A bait station and ground line were found on some private property at 140th St. N. and Keystone Ave. N. near Placid Lake. There were also some tracks in the snow. The complainant decided not to do anything about it but wanted it noted in case it happened again.

Knock, Knock, Who's There?: Someone knocked on the complainant's car window and then drove off at Frenchman Rd. and Victor Hugo Blvd. at 5:45 p.m. on Jan. 7. The complainant did not know who the person was but said that the man had followed her with his high beams on.


Lino Lakes Police Reports


Letting Loose: An 18-year-old male was cited for an ordinance violation on Dec. 30 at 8:09 p.m. in the 1500 block of Merganser Ct. when he was walking a loose dog.

The Fluid Nature Of This Party: On Jan. 4 police observed numerous vehicles parked on both sides of the road in the 6000 block of Ware Road at 10:38 p.m. They subsequently cited a 17-year-old juvenile male for fleeing on foot and for underage consumption and an 18-year-old male for giving false information to police, fleeing on foot and for underage consumption. Twenty-one juveniles and 32 young adults were later cited for underage consumption.

Taking Off: On Jan. 8 police responded to a burglary in progress in the 6900 block of Lake Drive at approximately 7:30 a.m. A suspect was seen fleeing from the seaplane base. The suspect was not apprehended. Another theft was reported during the overnight hours of Jan. 8 or early morning hours of Jan. 9 at the same location. The Lino Lakes Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying any suspicious activity individuals may have witnessed in this area during these two days. Witnesses are requested to call 911 to make a report.
