Hugo Police Reports


This Issue's Statistic: There were two commercial vehicle violations in Hugo since our last publication. Both were related to not having a rear plate and not having a periodic inspection.

Smoke Signals: Two juvenile males were seen smoking marijuana on a trail in the 14000 block of Geneva Ave. N. at 11:31 a.m. on Dec. 30. These individuals were spied through a pair of binoculars by the complainant. Police were unable to locate the teens on arrival.

Wasted Time: An intoxicated woman was described to be "out of control" in the 15000 block of Forest Blvd. N. on Dec. 30 at 1:56 p.m. Police took her to Detox.

True Colors: On Dec. 30 at 3:46 p.m. some building materials and paint cans were dumped on 140th St. 200 yards west of Keystone..

Boom Boxing: A loud party with many cars was reported in the 15000 block of Farnham Ave. N. at 2:39 a.m. on Dec. 31. When police arrived, the party-goers were watching the "Ultimate Fight Challenge." They agreed to turn down the music and the television.

Snowed Under: There were 57 winter parking violations occurring before 8 a.m. since the release of our last issue. These were related to snow emergency routes.

According To One's Lights: Two men were seen ringing doorbells and shining flashlights into cars in the 5800 block of Egg Lake Road N. on New Year's Eve at 10:09 p.m.

Trying To Tail It Out Of There: On Jan. 2 at 2:54 a.m. someone was cited for a loud exhaust at 159th and Finley Ave. N.

The Cat Ate My Eviction Notice: A resident in the 14000 block of Forest Blvd. N. called in at 9:24 a.m. on Jan. 2. They said that they had come home and found their locks changed. They remembered receiving an eviction notice but did not get a court order. They also reported that their cat was missing.

A Lot On One's Plate: Someone was arrested at 140th and Forest Blvd. N. on Jan. 2 at 9:41 p.m. They had attempted to escape paying taxes by using comlicense plates not listed to the motor vehicle they were using. These plates had been stolen.

It's All In The Delivery: An older male in a light tan vehicle was seen looking into mailboxes at Goodview and Egg Lake Rd. on Jan. 3 at 02 p.m. Police found out that the man was delivering newspapers.

Too Cool For School: Four juveniles went into the front door of Hugo Elementary School on Jan. 3 at 6:02 p.m. One was seen riding a bike and three were seen walking on foot. A black bike was found outside the school and put into evidence. There was no damage to the school and police were unable to locate the minors.

The Sign Said 'Dead End': Someone called from 147th St. N. and Finale Ave. N. on Jan. 3 at 8:57 p.m. to report that there was some suspicious activity going on. A vehicle was seen between the cemetery and the city's pumphouse and no one was supposed to drive back there.

Copping Some Wires:Two 100 pound 3-by-5 copper coils were taken from a business in the 13000 block of Fenway Blvd. Circle N. on Jan. 3 at 9:p.m. Together, the rolls were worth $500.

Flagged & Down:A deer was struck and killed by a car in the 16000 block of Jeffrey Ave. N. on Jan. 4 at 9:17 a.m. and reportedly damaged a mailbox from the impact.

Cat Or Elephant Burglar?:On Jan. 6 at 5:03 a.m. someone in the 13000 block of Fiona Ave. N. called to report that someone was trying to break into their patio door. The complainant said that the prowler was banging so hard on the door that it sounded like it was going to break. When police arrived on scene they issued three citations for trespassing, disorderly conduct and underage consumption.


Lino Lakes Police Reports


This Issue's Statistic: Two laptop computers were stolen in Lino Lakes since our last publication.

No Meth-od To His Madness: A 41-year-old male was arrested at 4:21 a.m. on Dec. 29 after driving his car into a ditch at Hodgson Rd. and Birch St. The driver had possession of methamphetamine and was also charged for leaving the scene of an accident, possession of drug paraphernalia, and inattentive driving.

Carting It Off: A wallet was taken from a purse in a shopping cart in the 700 block of Apollo Dr. on New Year's Eve between 6 and 8 p.m.

Driving Away Crime: A hit and run accident occurred in the 400 block of Sherwood Rd. on Jan. 1 at 4:16 p.m. A young male driving an older model gray Isuzu rear-ended someone and then left the scene.

Expired Warranties: A 17-year-old female juvenile was arrested at 11:54 a.m. on Jan. 4 in the 200 block of Ash St. for an outstanding warrant. A 22-year-old male was also arrested for an outstanding warrant in the 400 block of Birch St. at 8:51 p.m. the next day. A 26-year-old male and a 22-year-old female were arrested at 1:25 p.m. in the 6000 block of I-35E on Jan. 6 for the same reason.

Open Bottle, Closed Case:A twenty-year-old was cited on Jan. 6 for underage consumption and for an open bottle in the 7500 block of Lake Dr. at 2:48 a.m. An 18-year-old was also cited at the scene for the same thing.

Return To Sender:A theft occurred during daylight hours on Jan. 6 in the 300 block of Carl St. Apparently a UPS package was removed from the front steps of a residence by an unknown suspect.

Not A Bright Idea: An unknown suspect damaged an exterior light in the 1500 block of LaMotte Dr. on Jan. 6. The suspect then removed the light bulb.

Up In Smoke: A 19-year-old was cited for possession of marijuana at 2:22 a.m. on Jan. 7 in the 600 block of Birch St.

A Tiresome Crime: A theft occurred on Jan. 7 in the 6400 block of North Trappers Crossing. Someone removed a tire and a rim off of a vehicle during nighttime hours.
