Hugo Police Reports
The One That DIDN'T Get Away:
At 8:04 p.m. on May 29 someone drove through some police tape and a barricade on Oneka Lake in order to go fishing. They were given a citation.
Pooling Their Efforts:
Some people were supposedly swimming in the Victor Gardens pool at 3:20 a.m. on May 31 in the 14000 block of Victor Hugo Blvd.
The swimmers were gone upon the arrival of law enforcement personnel.
There was another report of people swimming after hours in the Waters Edge Community Center pool at 1:26 a.m. on June 7. Deputies could not locate anyone at this scene either.
It's A Circus Out There:
There was a loitering report in the 14000 block of Fitzgerald Ave. N. at 7:55 p.m. on May 31. Six or seven reportedly intoxicated carnival workers were hanging around the area and were being loud.
Lettuce In:
There was a break-in reported at 1:46 a.m. on June 3 at the Subway in the 5000 block of 147th St. N. The thieves had not stolen anything and nothing looked suspicious on arrival.
Coming Out Of Left Field:
A baseball bag containing a bat, a mitt, a mask, a helmet, some pads and some gloves was taken from a motor vehicle in the 6100 block of 150th St. N. at 6:23 a.m. on June 7.
Diving Into It:
There were some people training divers for police work in the 15000 block of Fenway Ave. N. at 7:56 a.m. on June 7.
I Got Your Number:
A suspicious person was reported in the 5000 block of 147th St. N. at 7:28 p.m. on June 7. The driver of a white Ford car was in a business parking lot and was reportedly switching their license plate. Upon police arrival, the individual showed officers that they were taking off the license plate holder only because it was loose.
No Drinking And Driving:
Five people were reportedly intoxicated and walking around a used car lot on Forest Blvd. N. at midnight on June 8. The owner was given permission to tow their vehicles.
Using A Sledgehammer To Crack A Nut:
Two sledgehammers and two propane canisters were found in the 5000 block of 152nd St. N. at 10:48 a.m. on June 8. Deputies informed the person who called in that they would either dispose of them or try to find the owner.
Booking It Out Of There:
Some juveniles were reportedly on the roof of Hugo Elementary school on Francesca Ave. N. at 6:09 p.m. on June 8. Three juveniles were located but others had left upon police arrival.
Showing No Fear:
A coyote was seen in the 4300 block of Victor Path at 10:55 p.m. on June 9. The caller told officers that the animal did not appear to be afraid of humans.

Resisting A Rest?:
Two juveniles were cited for curfew violation at 1:23 a.m. on June 1 in the 7700 block of Mustang Lane. Two more juveniles were arrested at 2:57 a.m. on June 9 at Pelican Place and Egret Lane for curfew violation and underage consumption.
In This Case:
An adult male was arrested in the 900 block of Main St. at 9:05 p.m. on June 2 for possessing an uncased firearm in a motor vehicle and for possessing the weapon without a permit. Another adult male was also arrested in the 7000 block of I-35E at 9:50 a.m. for the same charges.
Cops-n-Robbers:
A 17-year-old juvenile was cited on June 4 at 7:26 p.m. in the 1400 block of Karth Road. This individual was displaying illegal equipment similar to that from a police vehicle.
Getting On Board:
There was a burglary report at 11:51 p.m. on June 4 in the 1300 block of Wolf Circle. Someone had apparently entered a garage and removed a skateboard. A 17-year-old male was arrested for 1st degree burglary and another 17-year-old male was arrested for aiding an offender in the commission of 1st degree burglary and conspiring to commit burglary. Both were transported to the juvenile detention center for booking.
Ditching The Change:
A male was cited while in the ditch at Hodgson Rd. and Birch St. at 11:12 p.m. on June 5 for failure to change his address on his driver's license and for inattentive driving.
Addicted To Garage Sales:
A 21-year-old male was transported to jail on June 5 after he went to a garage sale in the 500 block of Henry Lane and took some money from a cash box. He tested positive for heroin and was arrested for 2nd degree burglary, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of hypodermic needles.
Not Just A One-liner:
A truck caught a utility line in the 700 block of Oak Lane at 9:20 a.m. on June 6. The line came down into the roadway. Both the cable and phone companies were notified.
No Bone Of Contention On That:
Officers responded to an attempted burglary report in the 6700 block of 20th Ave. at 8:30 p.m. on June 8. A family dog had bitten an intruder and scared him away before the burglar took anything.
