Hugo Police Reports
They Made a Clean Get-a-Way: A hit-and-run accident occurred on Nov. 8 at 1:45 p.m. in the parking lot outside the dry cleaner’s on Victor Hugo Blvd. No suspects were located.
They Didn’t Have a Handle On It: On Nov. 8 a resident in the 14000 block of Fondant Ave. N reported that the doorknob was broken off their front door, and a screen door and back door were wide open. No suspect was located and there was no missing property.
Family Feud-less: Deputies responded to a report of a domestic fight on Nov. 9 at 1:50 a.m. in the parking lot of a business on Forest Blvd N. When they arrived, they were unable to locate a fight. Patrons in the area reported seeing no fight. The officer was told by a patron that he overheard people talking about reporting a false fight in order to divert the authorities, so they would not get pulled over for DUI. No suspects were located.
Renter’s Refund: On Nov. 9 a resident on Victor Path filed a fraud report. They had advertised a room for rent online, and received a response from an interested party. The prospective renter sent a deposit check for a larger amount than was due, and requested a refund for the excess amount. Complainant deposited the check and was informed that it was a counterfeit check.
And Now They Need To Vent!: Several radiators and other parts were removed from construction equipment parked in the 15000 block of Ingersoll Ave. N. on Nov. 9. Estimated value of missing equipment is $10,000.
Open Door Policy: On Nov.12 at 12:16 p.m. a resident in the 15000 block of Emerald Dr. N reported that all 4 car doors of the neighbor’s car were wide open and had been for over 3 hours. Officer made contact with vehicle owner who stated that he was attempting to air out his car aft er a long weekend of deer hunting.
Out-RAGE-ous: On Nov. 13 at 4:00 p.m. a road rage incident occurred on Oneka Pkwy. N. and Frenchman Rd. N. when one vehicle honked at another, the second driver rolled down the window and yelled, then jumped out of the vehicle and began waving his arms in the air, and threatening a fight.
Getting a Charge Out of It: A strange smell was detected coming from the garage of a residence in the 15000 block of Glenbrook Ave. N. on Nov. 13. Complainant stated the smell was similar to rotten eggs. Upon investigating, offi cers determined that the smell was actually coming from a battery that had been left on a charger for too long.
Show Them to the Door: A residential house door was laying in the middle of Fiona Rd. N. at 120th St. on Nov. 13 at 6:21 a.m. The door was covered in mud and surrounded by broken glass. The deputy removed the door from the roadway.

Who’s Next?: Somebody found a bike on Nov. 3 in the 7000 block of Lakeview Dr. The bike was a NEXT brand and was placed into the police property room to be claimed.
They Have Their Pry-orities Mixed Up: On Nov. 5 officers responded to a report of damage to property that occurred in the 6000 block of Hodgson Rd. when an unknown suspect(s) damaged two vehicles that were parked in a parking lot some time within the previous week. It appeared someone attempted to gain access by prying the doors, but was unsuccessful.
A Tough Fact To Follow: A 38-year-old female was arrested on Nov. 5 at 10:25 p.m. in the 2100 block of Main St. She was charged with 4th degree DWI and following too close.
What Were They Thinking?: Theft from a motor vehicle was reported on Nov. 5 in the 600 block of Highland Tr. when an unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked vehicle sometime during the night hours and removed an I-pod ThinkPad computer. On Nov. 10, offi cers arrested an 18-year-old male from Lino Lakes for possession of the missing computer.
On a Power Trip: Sometime during the night hours on Nov. 6 somebody entered a construction site in the 6300 block of Otter Lake Rd. and removed several power tools.
Spare Change: Somebody removed a spare tire from a vehicle in the 500 block of Hawthorn Rd. during the night hours of Nov. 10.
Lift Ticket: Officers responded to a report of shoplifting-inprogress at 7:49 p.m. on Nov. 11, in the 700 block of Apollo Dr. The male suspect was subsequently arrested for felony theft after he was caught with over $1,000 worth of merchandise.
Who Signed Them Up?: A resident on Isleton Ave. N. reported on Nov. 15 at 8:31 p.m. that 15-20 signs were left in the yard sometime overnight.
Centerville Police Reports
He’s Bluffng! (From) Texas, Hold’em! On Nov. 17 at 7:48 p.m. a vehicle traveling at 55 mph in a 35-mph-zone was stopped in the 7300 block of Main St. Suspect stated that he had no ID, but gave a name and date of birth, and said he was from Texas. The officer checked records and discovered that suspect had no drivers license in Minnesota or Texas, but did have an expired drivers permit from 1998. Suspect was arrested for no driver’s license, providing false information to police, and speeding.
Not Your Run Of The Mill Stop: A vehicle without an illuminated rear license plate was stopped on Mill Rd. and Main St. Nov. 15 at 2:49 a.m. Both the driver and the passenger admitted to drinking earlier in the evening. An open bottle of alcohol was discovered under the front passenger seat. The driver was issued a citation for driving after revocation, and an underage passenger was cited for underage consumption.
Give Me A Brake(light): On Nov. 16 at 4:51 a.m. an officer observed a vehicle in the 7300 block of Main St. with a brake light out. The vehicle was pulled over and the officer detected the smell of alcohol, and administered field sobriety tests and a breath test. The female driver was arrested for DUI.
