Hand In The...Candy Jar?: At 3:00 p.m. on Nov. 30 someone in the 5500 block of 146th St. N. reported someone had broken into the Teen Center. The door had apparently been pushed open but nothing was damaged and only candy was taken.

Stealing The Holiday Spirit?:Someone stole some holiday decorations from a residence in the 4900 block of 126th St. N. on Nov. 30 at 5:18 p.m. When police arrived to take down the information, the husband of the complainant jokingly remarked that he hoped the rest would also be taken so he wouldn't have to put them up again next year. (Who down in Whoville was responsible?)

A Clean Slate:On Dec. 1 at 6:07 p.m. an employee at a model home in the 14000 block of Everton Ave. N. called to report some suspicious activity. Two men in a van had said that they were cleaners but the employee had not believed them. Police found the men cleaning at another model home and let them know that there wasn't a problem.

Stump Speech: Several large tree stumps were reportedly blocking the snowmobile trail in the 17000 block of Elmcrest Ave. N. on Dec. at 2:33 p.m. Someone also called on Dec. 4 at 9:07 a.m. to report some stumps in the right-ofway at 170th St. N. and Elmcrest Ave.

For The Birds: On Dec. 3 at 9:44 a.m. someone called to report the theft of a bird bath from a yard in the 13000 block of Fiona Ave. N. The complainant explained that they had seen a neighbor's friend take some lawn ornaments a week ago and made him put them back. The bird bath was then spotted in the neighbor's back yard. Police retrieved it and returned it to the yard of the complainant.

Not A Vikings Fan?:Someone in the 6100 block of Goodview Tr. Circle N. called to report a disturbance at 1:39 p.m. on Dec. 3. Police found some construction workers next door listening to a football game. The workers agreed to turn down the volume. (Maybe it was a rare touchdown?)

A Bad Hair Day?: Two males were reportedly selling salon products in the 15000 block of Foxhill Ave. N. on Dec. 7 at 7:37 p.m.

Almost A Gender Bender?: A woman from the 6000 block of 165th St. N. called on Dec. 7 at 7:50 p.m. to report that a man in a dark-colored car had followed her home at closerange and was sitting outside her house with the lights off. Police found a female in the car using her cell phone.

Taking It To The Bank: Extra patrol was requested at Premier Bank in the 14000 block of Forest Blvd. N. on Dec. 8 at 6:24 p.m.

Your Barn Door Was Open?: A four-door white Oldsmobile was seen backed inside of a barn in the 5700 block of 145th St. N. on Dec. 9 at 3:01 p.m. The homeowner's brother-in-law told the occupants they were trespassing. He looked around but wasn't sure if anything was missing since it wasn't his property.

Rockin' Out: An explosion was reported at 8:00 p.m. on Dec. 9 in a gravel pit at 140th and Irish Ave. N.

Keep On Truckin': A suspicious vehicle was reported on private property at 140th and Keystone on Dec. 10 at 11:43 a.m. It turned out that the men in the vehicle were the complainant's two friends but that they were using a truck that he didn't recognize.

Seeing It In A Different Light?: Someone in the 1 000 block of Fiona Ave. N. called at 11:09 p.m. on Dec. 10 to report that someone had been launching fi reworks at their house but was now gone. Police were unable to locate anyone.


Lino Lakes Police Reports


This Issue's Statistic:Two citations were given in Lino Lakes for careless driving since our last publication.

Bent Out of Shape: Police responded to a property damage accident in the 6500 block of Ware Road at 9:01 a.m. on Nov. 28. A school bus had struck the back part of a vehicle. No injuries were reported.

Hit The Road: A vehicle hit a deer on Nov. 29 at 7:17 p.m. in the 700 block of Birch St.

In The Pipeline: Five stainless steel pipes were stolen from a business loading dock in the 400 block of Apollo Drive on Nov. 30 during nighttime hours.

Drawing The Line: Police stopped a car in the 700 block of I-35W at 1:21 a.m. on Dec. 3 for swerving and crossing the fog line. The driver was cited for allowing an open bottle in the vehicle, driving after revocation, and no Minnesota driver's license. The passenger was arrested for an open bottle in a vehicle and a seatbelt violation.

Changin' It Up:Someone entered a business in the 100 block of Elm St. on Dec. 5 and removed $50 in change and a cell phone. On Dec. 6, police arrested a 19-year-old male and a 15-year old juvenile male in connection with the theft.

Braking Cover: On Dec. 7 at 1:11 a.m. someone in the 900 block of James St. was cited for a cracked windshield, inoperable brake lights, no driver's license, and a failure to signal.
