Vampire Repellant: On Oct. 8 a resident in the 13000 block of Europa Tr. Way reported a strange smell of garlic inside the home. The homeowner did not have gas appliances, and had not been cooking with garlic. Officers were unable to detect where the smell was coming from.
Ghostly Sighting: Upon arriving home at 3:27 p.m. on Oct. 13, a homeowner in the 4000 block of Empress Way reported seeing a male intruder through an upstairs window. The man had dark hair and was wearing a white shirt. The garage door was open and strange footprints were detected. A neighbor reported that he did not see anybody in the area. Authorities checked the inside of the home and were unable to locate an intruder.
If the Trees Could Talk: A report was made on Oct. 14 of suspicious voices coming from some trees on private property located on 137th St. N. Complainant believed juveniles were trespassing and climbing the trees. Deputies were unable to locate any suspects.
Bug Off : On Oct. 17 at 4:57 p.m. a resident in the 13000 block of Flay Ave. reported that a female was repeatedly coming into the home uninvited. Complainant also stated that they hear voices in the attic and believed that the house may be bugged.
Hunted House: On Oct. 17, at 4:58 p.m. a resident on Ethan Ave. reported that duck hunters were shooting too close to residential homes. Authorities in a patrol boat located 3 hunting parties, and measured the distance to the homes. All hunters were at least 600 ft from the residential area. Hugo ordinance states that hunters must be at least 500 feet from any residential homes. No citations were issued.
Hold Your Horses: A brown and white horse was seen running free on Oct. 17, at 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Keller Ave. and 122nd St. Officers were unable to locate the horse.
Flat-tirey Will Get You Nowhere: A vehicle heading westbound on 170th St. was pulled over on Oct.18 at 5:45 a.m. for driving with a flat tire. A deputy observed items inside the vehicle that matched the description of stolen property. The vehicle did not belong to the suspect.
Cult-ivating Suspicions: A resident on Homestead Ave. reported on Oct. 18 at 10:31 a.m. that they had received a suspicious piece of mail from a religious group in Webster, Wis. Complainant believes it is cultrelated.
(Not Very) Funny Farm: Property damage to farmland on Elmcrest Ave. N. was reported on Oct. 18 at 12:55 p.m. Complainant stated that 4x4 trucks had been repeatedly driving on the property and destroying it. Estimated damage was between $2,500.00 and $5,000.00. Authorities were unable to locate any vehicles on the property.
Couldn’t Stand It: On or before Oct. 18, a deer stand was damaged and cut down from a tree on private property in the 12000 block of Greystone Ct. N. Complainant believes it was the act of a “tree hugger” and estimated the value of the deer stand to be $500.
A Burning Question: A resident on 159th Ct. N. reported a suspicious burning smell in upper level of the house on Oct. 19 at 8:36 p.m. Officers were unable to locate any smoke or flames.

All That Litters is Not Bold: At 9:35 p.m. on Oct. 8, an offi cer on a traffic stop in the 700 block of Village Drive observed the passenger, a 21 year old male, deposit a wrapper onto the ground. Upon attempting to identify the passenger to issue a littering citation the male gave the offi cer a false name. The male was arrested for false information to police and cited for littering. The male was transported to the Anoka County Jail for booking.
Mail Suspect: Police responded to a report on Oct. 2 of theft that occurred in the 6700 block of Partridge Place when unknown suspect(s) removed mail from mailboxes at an unknown time.
Nightmare on Elm Street: An unknown suspect(s) stole an unlocked orange Dyno bicycle from a bike rack in the 300 block of Elm St. on Oct. 8.
Not What the Doctor Prescribed: On Oct. 8 at 1:05 a.m. an 18 year old male was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (pills without a prescription) in the 6300 block of Deerwood Ln. The male was transported to the Anoka County Jail for booking.
Flee Market: Police responded to a complaint on Oct. 14 at 1 a.m. of loud music in the 700 block of Town Center Parkway. Upon arrival officers observed a group running from the scene. An 18-year-old male and a 20-year-old male were subsequently located and arrested for underage consumption and fleeing an officer. Both males were transported to the Anoka County Jail for booking.
Life in the Vast Lane: On Oct.12 officers arrested a 49- year-old female for 4th degree DWI, giving a false name to police, driving after revocation, open bottle, no driver’s license in possession and improper lane use that occurred at Centerville Road and Center Street at 1:35 a.m.
