Hugo Police Reports
This Issue's Statistic: There were two carbon monoxide alarms since our last publication.
That's Obscene!: Some males driving in either a green sedan or a black Saturn, who were wearing red, were yelling obscene comments to some juveniles near Oneka Lake Blvd. and Farnham Ave. N. at 6:41 p.m. on April 5.
Doing The Wave: Someone in the 6900 block of 177th St. N. waved down an officer at 10:36 p.m. on April 6 to tell him that he had found a license plate from a trailer in Little Falls. The plate was not stolen and had already been re-issued.
Money Talks: At 1:48 p.m. on April 8 someone in the 14000 block of Glenbrook Ave. N. found a purse in the bulrushes while cleaning up their yard. The purse was from a burglary in 2006 and was placed into evidence.
The Tangled Web We Weave: At 2:15 p.m. on April 9, someone reported an erratic driver going northbound on Forest Blvd. N. near 125th St. N. The vehicle was weaving in and out of traffic. The call was transferred to the state patrol.
Wake-Up Call: Someone in the 13000 block of Fiona Ave. N. called to report a loud ATV at 2:38 p.m. on April 10. Apparently the driver is loud at this time every day and wakes up the complainant's kids. Police did not observe a noisy ATV upon arrival.
Cop Out: Someone was possibly impersonating a police officer in the 14000 block of Glenbrook Ave. N. At 6:53 a.m. on April 11, someone called to report that they had seen a newscast on Channel 11 about people doing this and wanted to report someone who had an old squad car and may be a person of interest. Police did not find any incriminating information on the suspected person.
It's The Pits: Someone's dog was attacked by a pitbull in the 17000 block of Foxhill Ave. N. on April 12 at 10:48 p.m. The complainant had pictures of two wounds and thought that it didn't look like a coyote had done it.
Safety In Numbers: There were two Internet safety presentations by Washington County Sheriff deputies since our last publication, both at Oneka Elementary School in Hugo. One was held on April 13 and the other was on April 16.
Having A Ball: Some juveniles were walking in Rice Lake Park at 137th St. N. on April 13 at 4:29 p.m. They were apparently being loud and playing paintball.
Litter.Bugs!: Someone was given a warning for littering at 1:18 a.m. on April 14 when they threw a cigarette butt out of their car window at 120th St. N. and Forest Blvd. N. They said that they would have used their ashtray but it was full.
From The Horse's Mouth.Er, Tail: Some suspicious activity was reported in the 9000 block of 152nd St. N. at 2:16 p.m. on April 16. Apparently someone had cut 1-2 feet of hair off of ten of the complainant's horses' tails. They told police that people make jewelry out of horsehair. They said that they would call other horse farms in the area to warn the owners.
Re-Cycling: Three small motorcycles were taken from an unlocked building in the 5000 block of Oneka Lake Blvd. on April 16 at 5:07 p.m. Together, they were worth $2200.
The Dirt On The Road: Some dirt was stolen from the roadside at 165th St. N. near Highway 61 at 11:22 a.m. on April 17. The person who called police told them that the people who had taken it had used it to fix their driveway. Police found that there were fresh Bobcat tracks that led to the residence of the suspect and that there was a Bobcat at the house. The gravel at the residence also matched the dirt by the road. The dirt had a $250 value. The residents of the home were going to contact City Hall to deal with the issue.
Not Getting Hosed: At 11:23 a.m. on April 17, someone in a green minivan came to a door in the 5000 block of 129th Dr. N. and rang the bell. The solicitor offered to clean the complainant's carpets. When they declined, the solicitor offered to vacuum their carpet for free.
Lino Lakes Police Reports
This Issue's Statistic: There was one arrest in Lino Lakes for possession of cocaine since our last publication.
Boom Box: Someone ignited fireworks inside of a mailbox in the 7000 block of 2nd Ave. sometime on April 5.
Movin' On: A vehicle pulling a U-haul trailer collided with a parked vehicle in the 7000 block of 21st Ave. at 12:38 p.m. on April 6.
Taking It For A Spin: A 17-year-old male was cited for reckless driving after spinning his tires in the 7400 block of Main St. on April 6 at 5:58 p.m.
Lights Out: Someone in a red minivan removed a flashlight from a vehicle in the 900 block of Lois Lane on April 7 at 4:00 a.m. The homeowners interrupted the thieves as they were rummaging through the car.
Is The Water Safe?: A safe was found in a creek in the 7700 block of Main St. at 3:19 p.m. on April 10. Two money bags were also found at the scene. The case is under investigation.
Floored By The Crime: A wiring harness from a floor scrubber was taken from a residence in the 200 block of Apollo Dr. sometime on April 10.
But Don't Expect Him To See The Error Of His Ways: On the night of April 11 someone stole a pair of binoculars from an unsecured vehicle in the 900 block of Lois Lane.
Not A Card: A purse containing a cell phone and various credit cards was stolen from a vandalized motor vehicle in the 300 block of Elm Street at 1 p.m. on April 11.
Not How We Roll: Someone in a gold-colored Cadillac with fancy rims stole $44.33 worth of gas from a gas station in the 7000 block of 21st Ave. at 1:54 p.m. on April 12.
Outside The Law: Seven adults were cited for violating the terms of the liquor license by drinking outside of an establishment in the 7700 block of Lake Dr. at 6:30 p.m. on April 14.
A Test Run: A 22-year-old male attempted to avoid a breathalyzer test in the 6800 block of 35E at 2:15 a.m. on April 16. The male was eventually arrested for third degree DWI and was transported to the jail for booking.
