Were The Nuts Looking For Dough When They Took The Hole Thing?: Officers responded to a theft report at a business in the 13000 block of Forest Blvd. N. on Sept. 12 at 5:52 a.m. When the complainant arrived for work, a suspicious vehicle was parked in front of the business. The vehicle immediately sped away, and the complainant noticed that his delivery of 2 large boxes of doughnuts was missing. Officers were able to find the vehicle using the description given, and made a traffic stop. The occupants denied knowing anything about the doughnuts, but officers observed two large boxes of doughnuts in the back seat of the car.

They Didn’t Let The Sleeping Dog Lie: A suspicious activity report was filed on Sept. 18 at 1:19 p.m. at a mini-storage facility on Fenway Blvd. Cir. The complainant had discovered someone sleeping in their mini-storage locker. Officers roused the sleeping tenant, and requested he leave the property. He was given a refund of his rent and went on his way.

They Held A De-Briefing: On Sept. 18 at 4:43 p.m. officers responded to a theft from motor vehicle report at a golf course on 120th St. N. The complainant returned from a round of golf to find the driver’s window broken on his vehicle. A briefcase, laptop and checkbook were missing.

That’s Not Fare: Police responded to a report of theft of services on Sept. 18, on Forest Blvd. and 175th St. N. The complainant, a taxi driver, reported that three young males were indecisive about where they wanted to be driven, and then refused to pay their fare. They exited the cab and took off on foot. Officers located the suspects fighting in the weeds. When questioned, the suspects paid their fare.

Hay—That’s My Field: On Sept. 21 at 2:35 p.m. officers responded to a trespassing report at a residence on Forest Blvd. N. The female complainant stated that an unknown person was in her field stealing uncut hay. Officers went to the field and discovered a male cutting and baling hay. He stated that an unknown male had asked him to cut and bale the hay. The resident and the suspect came to an agreement and no charges were filed.

Caught In The Act: On Sept. 11 at 10:27 a.m. a resident on 152nd St. called to report a burglary in progress. While the complainant was working in the garden, her dog began frantic barking. She went inside the home to investigate and discovered a large duffel bag on the kitchen floor and another empty one folded on the table. She then heard noises downstairs and immediately exited the home. Within minutes an unknown male suspect emerged from the home and ran to an unknown silver car parked in the driveway. He sped away, nearly hitting her in the process. Officers brought in a K9 unit to investigate.

The home was cleared by the K9 unit. The case is under investigation.


Centerville Police Reports


The Evidence Was Key: Officers responded to a theft report in the 1700 block of Main St. on Sept. 1. The complainant, who owns the property but does not live there, stated that someone had stolen the key to his lawnmower. He also reported that numerous beer cans and alcohol containers were being thrown in his yard on a regular basis, and someone had planted marijuana plants in his yard. He requested extra patrol in the area.

Stall Tactics: A resident in the 6000 block of Grouse Hollow Circle reported a theft of a bicycle on Sept. 9. The complainant stated that sometime during the night hours of Sept. 7 someone entered an open third-stall garage and removed a blue mountain bike valued at $100.

Damage To Cemetery: On Sept.14 officers responded to a report of damage to property at a cemetery in the 1700 block of Main St. The complainant stated that someone had broken an outlet, removed a motion sensor light and destroyed two benches in the cemetery. Damage was estimated at $200.

No Gold Medal Performance There: On Sept.1 officers responded to a delayed report regarding a theft of an Olympic weed trimmer that occurred around August 23rd from the 6200 block of Red Maple Lane.

They Can Read Themselves The Riot Act: Officers responded to a report of a theft from motor vehicle on Sept. 1, in the 6200 block of Linda Lane. Sometime during the night hours unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked vehicle and removed a check, prescription sunglasses and a pair of reading glasses.

Maybe Not Such A Cheap Shot: A business in the 700 block of Apollo Dr. reported damage to property on Sept. 4 when two individuals were seen shooting a pistol-style gun at a parking-lot light fixture. Upon further investigation, the two were identified. Charges are pending.

Who Called In The Lawn Ranger?: A resident in the 6700 block of Black Duck Dr. was cited on Sept. 10 for violation of city ordinance following the accumulation of several miscellaneous items in the yard.

A Gamble Not Worth Taking: Officers arrested a 47- year-old male from Reno, Nev. for 4th degree DWI and for a stop sign violation in the 2200 block of Main Street on Sept. 11. The male was transported to the Anoka County jail for booking.
