The Burning Question— Who’s Looking For A Hot Shot?: Deputies received multiple reports of theft occurring at the burned remains of a business on Forest Blvd. N. on Jan. 19 and 20. Witnesses saw juveniles removing alcohol from the property, and a vehicle that left with 2 cases of beer. Officers were unable to locate any of the suspects.
Suspicious Situation: A resident on Heather Ave. N. reported a suspicious situation on Jan. 21 at 3:15 p.m. when they returned home to find the garage door open. Deputies did a sweep of the garage and home. Nothing appeared missing or damaged and there was no sign of forced entry.
Looking For A Gram-Cracker: A resident on Elmcrest Ave. N. filed a report of fraud on Jan. 21. The complainant stated that he was due a refund from Money- Gram, but when he went to claim his refund, somebody else had already claimed it. He was requesting a record be kept of his statements as the company is investigating.
Were They Afraid Of A Turnover?: On Jan. 22, while on routine patrol near the intersection of Forest Blvd and Brett Favre Dr. (see Page 4), deputies spotted a van pulling a wobbly trailer. An unsecured vehicle on the trailer was moving around and bouncing on the trailer. They stopped the van and subsequently arrested the driver and the passenger for outstanding warrants in Anoka County.
They Must Attend The School Of Hard Knocks: A resident on Fanning Dr. N. filed a report on Jan. 22 of suspicious activity. The complainant stated that several children wait for the bus near her home, and have been knocking on the windows repeatedly and attempting to break ice free from the frozen gutters, causing damage to the gutters. Deputies returned the next morning to speak with the children.
In A Jam? A-Band- Done All Hope: Deputies were called to a residence on Victor Path on Jan. 23 for a report of loud music. The complainant stated that someone was playing music very loudly, possibly a live band. He said that several neighbors had been complaining. The officers located the source of the music and spoke with the resident, who was very cooperative and agreed to end the jam session.
No More Mr. Nice Geyser: Someone called in a report of water spraying 20 feet in the air from a pipe on Victor Hugo Blvd. on Jan. 23. Hugo Public Works was contacted, and they were able to turn off the water and repair the problem.
Shedding A Little Light on the Matter: Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious situation at a residential community on Forest Blvd. N. Someone was seen snooping around the property with a flashlight at 12:12 a.m. on Jan 24. Officers located the suspect, the caretaker, who was doing his job—making a repair.
Lino Lakes Police Reports
High Hopes, Faulty Equipment: Police cited an 18-year-old Lino Lakes man for an equipment violation, and an 18-year-old passenger for possession of a small amount of marijuana at Totem Tr. and Birch St. at 7:15 p.m. on Jan. 13.
An Open-And-Shut Case: On Jan.16 at 6:10 p.m., officers arrested a 47-year-old Roseville man and a 46-yearold Lino Lakes woman for 2nd degree DWI and open bottle in the 7700 block of 20th Ave. Both adults were transported to Anoka County Jail for booking.
Not Fair Game: Police responded to a report of theft of a computer video game in the 700 block of Apollo Dr. on Jan. 21 at 6:55 p.m. A 19- year-old Blaine man was cited for the theft.
Not A Very Bright Idea!: On Jan. 24 at 3:20 p.m. officers cited a 29-yearold Isanti man for driving after suspension, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without headlights in inclement weather in the 1000 block of I-35W.
Was He Using Smoke Signals?: Offi cers arrested a 20-year-old Blaine man for signal violation, no proof of insurance and 5th degree possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia at Centerville Rd. and Ash. St. on Jan. 25. The male was transported to Anoka County Jail for booking.
