This Issue's Statistic: There were seven residence checks in Hugo since our last publication.

Wingin' It: A burglar alarm sounded at 7:16 a.m. on Jan. 24 at Wild Wings Game Farm on 152nd St. N. An employee on site informed law enforcement personnel that the concrete padding had been pushed up and that this had accidentally caused the alarm to sound.

Not Going To Collections (Plate): In a forced entry, a purse was stolen from a vehicle parked at St. John's Church on Forest Blvd. at 12:14 p.m. on Feb. 8.

The Shining: At 6:57 a.m. on Feb. 13 there was a report of an old Buick in the 13000 block of Isleton Ave. N. that had its entire backside lit up by one big light. The light was shining brightly on the neighbor's property.

A Loud Rumble: There was a report of an altercation in the 14000 block of Forest Blvd. N. on Feb. 13 at 8:56 p.m. Thirty to forty juveniles had supposedly been standing with fi sts raised in a nearby parking lot. The teens were gone upon the arrival of deputies.

An Incident They Didn't Scrap: A snowmobile that was stolen Feb. 14 at 11:21 a.m. was found sitting in a driveway of a business in the 16000 block of Forest Blvd. N. The business had planned to dismantle it and use the parts.

Locking Down The Process: Someone was reportedly some loud pounding on a garage in the 8400 block of 136th St. N. at 11:43 a.m. on Feb. 14. This suspicious person turned out to be the homeowner who did not have their keys.

Paving The Way For A Violation: There were three county park violations in the 17000 block of Forest Blvd. N. at 2:18 p.m. on Feb. 14. Those cited were riding snowmobiles on the paved surface of the Hardwood Creek Trail.

Playing The Field: There was a driving complaint near 84 Lumber on Fenway Blvd. N. at 8:07 p.m. on Feb. 15. A white truck was seen driving through a field.

The driver had been shining the truck's lights on the complainant's property. Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle.

Shifty Behavior?: Someone reported some suspicious activity at 9:02 p.m. on Feb. 15 on Freeland Ave. N. between 148th and 147th St. N. Supposedly, there was a small compact car sitting on the street and it had been there for more than an hour. Police made contact and the driver informed them that they work in the area and were waiting for their shift to start.

Failing To Do Their Homework?: A car had pulled up in front of an abandoned house in the 5100 block of Farnham Dr. N. at 10:28 p.m. on Feb. 17. It turned out that the car belonged to the new homeowner, who was inside the house when police arrived, and that this person had just purchased the property.

Fear Of Abandonment: At 8:46 a.m. on Feb. 18, someone called from the 5200 block of 170th St. N. and wanted to know if it was illegal for a husband to abandon his wife.

Police informed the woman that this would not constitute an illegal action unless the husband tried to deprive the wife of her rights to see their children.

This Could Make For Arresting Television: Someone reported a suspicious vehicle in the 17000 block of Keystone Ave. N. at 12:04 p.m. on Feb. 18. Police located the van, identified the driver, and found that he was repairing a television in the area.


Lino Lakes Police Reports

A Die-Hard Way To Go: A 17-year-old female was cited for a juvenile tobacco violation at 7:34 p.m. on Feb. 10 at Birch St. and Deerwood Lane.

Now That's Horsepower: At 7:54 p.m. on Feb. 16 police responded to a property damage accident that occurred in the 7700 block of Appaloosa Lane when a driver backed out of a driveway and collided with a parked vehicle.

Not In The Gray Area: On Feb. 18 at 10:24 p.m. police arrested a 46-year-old male from Lino Lakes for 2nd degree DWI and for illegal window tint in the 1300 block of Birch St. The male was transported to the Anoka County jail for booking.

Last Ditch Effort: At 5:20 p.m. on Feb. 18, police responded to a two-vehicle property damage accident that occurred at 20th Ave. and 77th St. when a vehicle swerved to avoid collision with a vehicle that was in the wrong lane and entered a ditch. No injuries were reported.
