Hugo Police Reports

This Issue's Statistic:

There were four National Night Out announcements listed for Hugo since our last publication.

It's All Down the Drain:

On August 6 at 1:09 p.m. there was a report that the previous owner who had foreclosed on a home in the 14000 block of Hyde Ave. N. had stolen all the shower heads. Police flagged this as a civil issue.

Where's a Weed Whipper When You Need One?:

At 11:49 p.m. on August 6 someone in the 5000 block of 165th St. reported a possible prowler. A man with brown hair was seen crouching down in the weeds. Police were unable to locate anyone upon arrival.

To Cut to the Chase:

Someone filed an animal complaint on August 7 at 7:40 a.m. Apparently someone was chased by a dog near 175th St. N. and Forest Blvd. N. Police were unable to locate a dog that matched the description.

Please Pipe Up If You Know Anything:

There were 12 reports of different kinds of piping being stolen since our last issue. One was in the 4000 block of Rosemary Way and was worth $150. The second, third and fourth were in the 15000 block of Foster Dr. N. and were worth $1600. The fifth and sixth were in the 15000 block of Fauk Dr. N. and were worth $1300. The seventh, eighth and ninth were in the 4000 block of 149th St. N. and were worth $900. The tenth incident was in the 14000 block of Everton Ave. N. and was worth $100 and the eleventh was in the 4000 block of Providence Lane N. and was worth $100. They were mostly copper tubing, water and gas mains and AC line sets. One hundred 4-by-4 pallets valued at $5 each were also taken from the 5000 block of 130th St. and 25 4-by-4 corrugated pallets, valued at $35 each, were also taken from the 5000 block of 130th St. N. These all occurred in the early morning of August 7. Many were Pulte Homes construction sites.

That Takes the Cake:

Some birthday invitations were sent out from a residence at Goodview Ave. N. and 132nd Ave. N. on August 9 and were found strewn on the ground somewhere else in the neighborhood on August 10.

Doing Some Digging on What Happened:

Two men in a turquoise van were seen digging along the tracks in the 14000 block of Forest Blvd. N. on August 10 at 8:35 a.m. They told the complainant that they had run out of gas but police did not find anyone at the gas station.

The Good Shepherds:

Two German Shepherds were seen running loose in the 15000 block of Goodview Ave. on August 10 at 4:47 p.m.

Pane-less Efforts?:

Someone reported some suspicious activity at a construction site in the 15000 block of Farnham Ave. N. on August 14 at 10:09 p.m. The caller said that there were lights on in the newly-built home. It turns out it was some people on ladders washing the windows and doing construction clean-up.

Taking Stock of All Things Rodeo:

Four horses were missing from the corral at the Dead Broke Saddle Club rodeo grounds on 170th St. N. at 4:31 a.m. on August 18. They were found by 11 a.m.

Pole Barn on Fire:

An individual attempted to start a tractor in a barn in the 4300 block of 170th St. N. in August 20 at 8:51 a.m. The tractor caught on fire and the whole barn went up in flames.

Are You Pole-ing My Leg?:

Someone took $200 worth of two pound wire and four pound wire from the utility poles at Elmcrest Ave. N. and 129th Ave. N. on August 16 at 11:50 a.m. With the labor cost, the total job to fix the problem after the theft was $1000.

That's Kinda Corny:

There was a vandalism report in the 13000 block of Europa Trail N. on August 19 at 12:09 p.m. Someone had damaged the left rear taillight assembly of a vehicle with a corncob. There were several other cars on Fenway Blvd. N. that had also had corncobs thrown at them but these did not have separate police incident reports.


Lino Lakes Police Reports

This Issue's Statistic:

There was one arrest for possession of a firearm by a felon in Lino Lakes since our last publication.

Far Reaching:

There was a property damage accident in the 6500 block of Centerville Rd. at 3:14 p.m. on August 7 when the driver of a vehicle reached down to pick up something that fell on the floor. The individual lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree but there were no injuries reported.

The Hole Mess:

An unknown suspect shot a slug into a garage door in the 1900 block of 77th St. sometime on August 7.

Your Turn:

A female passen ger was cited for curfew violation at 1:35 a.m. on August 8 at Lake Dr. and Hodgson Rd. when the driver of the vehicle was stopped and cited for turning on a red light.

Timely Tip On Untimely Tipping:

Several officers on patrol stopped some juveniles who were running behind houses at Hawthorn Rd. and Painted Turtle Rd. on August 8 at 2:24 a.m. They located a vehicle filled with many intoxicated underage individuals who stated that they had been drinking in the 500 block of Hawthorn Rd. Police followed this tip and found many people illegally drinking in the back yard of a residence. Two 18-year-olds, ten 19-year-olds and four 20-year-olds were cited for underage consumption.

An Expensive Purse:

An adult female was arrested on August 10 at 8:25 p.m. in the 6800 block of Lake Dr. for theft of a purse.

Cracking Down on Crack:

A passenger in a vehicle was arrested in the 1800 block of I-35W at 8:22 a.m. on August 12 for fifth degree possession of a controlled substance (crack cocaine). The driver of the car was arrested for fifth degree possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, third degree DWI and speed.

Obstacle Race:

An adult male was arrested for driving around barricades, giving false information and driving after cancellation/inimical to public safety on August 13 at 4:56 a.m. at Lilac St. and Apollo Dr.


Centerville Police Reports

This Issue's Statistic:

There was one theft of a wallet in Centerville since our last publication.

Not All It's Cracked Up to Be:

Someone was cited for a cracked windshield at Lexington Ave. and Lake Dr. on August 8 at 9:25 a.m.

Hot Plates:

Some dinner plates were stolen from a garage sale on Pleasant View Lane on August 10 at 6:19 p.m.

Out of the Gate:

A play gate was stolen on August 13 at 9:24 a.m. from the 3800 block of Patriot Lane.
