Hugo Police Reports
Heavy Metal: Two individuals were detained and taken into custody at National Recycling, a business in the 15000 block of Forest Blvd. N., on Jan. 9 at 4:24 p.m. They had stolen some pontoon items off of a boat in Brainerd and were being investigated in the theft of the metal. Investigation is ongoing.
Beaten To The Punch: An employee called the Washington County Sheriff's Office from a business in the 14000 block of Forest Blvd. N. on Jan. 10 at 2:52 p.m. Someone had apparently come into the store, stolen a $16 bottle of Bacardi rum and had not paid for the beverage. The male suspect was caught on video. The store manager did not want to press charges at the time of the call and said instead that they would ask the man to pay for the liquor next time they were in the store. They wanted to call in the incident for information purposes.
Climbing The Ladder of Success And Getting Rung Out: Someone on Egg Lake Rd. just east of Forest Blvd. N. called at 5:57 p.m. on Jan. 10 to report that there was a person on a ladder in the area and that it seemed suspicious. Officers on scene could not locate anyone on a ladder when they arrived and couldn't find a utility truck in the area.
Forgetting The Bread and Butter: Someone forgot to take their keys out of their vehicle before locking the car doors at 10:41 p.m. on Jan. 10. They were stranded in the parking lot of Festival Foods on Victor Hugo Blvd. N.
Not So Happy Days: Spotting The Fonz?: A juvenile in a leather jacket was reportedly walking near 170th St. N. and Ingersoll Ave. N. at 6:18 a.m. on Jan. 13. Police could not locate the individual.
Fast And Furry-ous: A suspicious white Ford pick-up was reportedly seen at 8:06 a.m. on Jan. 13 in the 15000 block of Homestead Ave. N. The individuals who were driving the suspicious vehicle were seen hunting coyotes in the fields.
Not Put On The Back Burner: Someone reported a possible structure fire in the 16000 block of Forest Blvd. N. at 10:57 a.m. on Jan. 15. It turned out that it was not a fire but instead was an outdoor burner that the complainant saw.
Oscar's Trash Collection: There was a report of a theft of a trash can at 9:33 p.m. on Jan. 15 in the 12000 block of Upper Heather Ave. N. A neighbor of the can's owner saw someone drive by in a cargo van and pull it in through the side door. Th ere was trash all over the road and the can was found one-quarter mile from its home residence.
Can You See Me Now?: A woman came into the Kwik Trip in the 14000 block of Victor Hugo Blvd. N. at 10:46 p.m. on Jan. 19 and asked if the store sold phone cards. She had a Texas license plate and the employee who called in the report had seen her before.
Doing Time (Magazine): Someone came into the SixtyOne Stop in the 14000 block of Forest Blvd. N. at 1:50 p.m. on Jan. 20 and stole a magazine. The employee who called in the report stated that this person did not even try to hide the stolen goods. Officers planned to follow up with the suspect.
Cool It: At 5:58 a.m. on Jan. 22 someone in the 4900 block of 132nd St. N. called to report that a red Honda was blocking the nearby fire hydrant. Officers found that the vehicle was at least 10 feet away so it was legally parked.
Lino Lakes Police Reports
No Cover-up On This Incident: Police responded to a property accident in the 500 block of I-35W at 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 10. A semi-tractor that was hauling debris lost some of the contents, which subsequently struck the vehicle following it. There was damage to the hood and windshield. No injuries were reported.
Not Letting This Misgiving Slide: At 8:04 p.m. on Jan. 11 a vehicle in the 6900 block of Sunrise Dr. struck a parked vehicle in a parking lot after sliding on some ice. There was some damage to the bumper but no injuries were reported.
Hard To Chill Out: On Jan. 13 some fishing equipment was stolen from an ice house in the 7300 bock of Lake Drive. There was also some damage reported to the ice house door.
To Bring The House Down: On Jan. 18 during nighttime hours someone removed a fish house from the lake in the 7400 block of Main St.
Left Of Center?: A 44-year-old male was cited at 1:22 a.m. on Jan. 19 in the 800 block of Birch St. for crossing the center line.
Crossing The Great Divid(er): A squad car sustained some minor damage at 6:43 a.m. on Jan. 20 when the driver backed into a concrete divider at Wagner's Greenhouse on Frenchman Rd. N.
Centerville Police Reports
This Issue's Statistic: There were seven underage consumption citations given out in Centerville since our last publication. These occurred at 1:32 a.m. on Dec. 28.
Wine Press: There was one lane violation and a second degree DWI on Jan. 5 at 2:28 a.m. at Main St. and Mill Rd. A fourth degree DWI was also given out at 1:18 a.m. on Jan. 13 at Main St. and 20th Ave.
Law And (Dis)order: There were two incidents of disorderly conduct on Jan. 6 at 4:54 a.m. in the 7000 block of Cottonwood Ct.
Public Order: A citation was given for a junked vehicle at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 10 on Center Rd.
