Blasts From the Past: This issue's statistic identifies five fireworks complaints since our last publication. Several of these were in response to the show for the Centennial Celebration in Lions Park.
While You Were Sleeping: Eight juveniles were having a party in the 14000 block of Fountain Ave. N. on August 3 at 2:47 a.m. Police contacted the homeowner who stated that he/she had been sleeping and would make sure everyone else went to bed, too.
A Last Ditch Effort: A squad car rolled into the ditch in the 12000 block of Goodview Ave. N. at 1:43 a.m. on August 8 in hopes of avoiding hitting a deer and two fawns. The officer swerved successfully but had to have the car towed.
Trashing Mickey D's: Someone threw a McDonald's cup out their window at 147th and Goodview on August 8 at 3:56 p.m. The four people in the car denied littering.
Can You Hear Me Now?: A male was walking and talking on his cell phone in the 13000 block of Europa Tr. Way N. on August 8 at 10:55 p.m. He told police that he did not want to wake his sleeping dad.
Not Peachy Keen: Someone reported a spray-painted truck with peach paint in the 5000 block of 157th St. N. on August 11 at 10:46 a.m.
Burn Bags: On August 12 at 11:12 a.m. someone in the 5000 block of 157th St. N. called to report that there were several burnt paper bags stuck to their neighbor's house. Police took photos and put these into Evidence.
Crop Circles and Cement Patterns: Two spots of brown paint epoxy were located on a narrow strip that was three feet in length on the south side of a residence in the 5000 block of 157th St. N. on August 13 at 5:19 p.m. The spots were symmetrically spaced and the homeowner wanted it noted before they were removed with mineral spirits.
Major Withdrawal Penalty: There was a forced entry to a residence through the patio door on August 15 at 4:24 p.m. in the 17000 block of Henna Ave. N. The thief made off with over $6000 in coins and currency.
That's Cheesy: Someone Easy-Cheezed a motor vehicle in the 13000 block of Europa Tr. N. on Aug 15 at 11:33 p.m.
How Much Wood Does a Woodchuck Chuck: A neighbor helped a complainant herd a woodchuck out of her garage on August 20 at 8:31 a.m. in the 5200 block of 141st St. N.
Not Goofing Off With Goof-Off: Some threw a balloon with tan paint in it at a residence in the 5100 block of 157th St. N. on August 20 at 9:57 a.m. The complainant was trying to remove the stains with Goof-Off cleaning products when officers arrived.
The Future's So Bright: Someone driving at Finale and 145th St. N. on August 21 at 8:12 p.m. was asked to remove their illegal window tint. The registered owner stated that they had just purchased the vehicle and that the tint was already peeling off in some places.
