This Issue's Statistic: The Special Response Team was called out to Hugo for one suicide check since our last publication.
Slip Slidin' Away: At 3:25 p.m. on Feb. 8, someone in the 4700 block of 126th St. N. called to report that a juvenile in their neighborhood was purposely sliding a vehicle around corners and driving recklessly.
Not Model Behavior: A suspicious man was seen at a model home in the 5100 block of 149th St. N. on Feb. 9 at 5:06 p.m. The complainant said that the man did not say anything but was just "acting weird."
Avoiding The.Problem: On Feb. 9 at 10:25 p.m. someone from the 51000 block of Forest Blvd. N. called to report that an animal was under their trailer. The complainant told police that the animal was making his cat act "anti-social." Animal Control said they wouldn't come out and help unless the complainant could contain the unknown animal.
When the Door Is A Jar: A front door was ajar at a business in the 14000 block of Victor Hugo Blvd. on Feb. 10 at 5:53 p.m. The same thing had happened a few days before. Police checked the business but didn't spot anything unusual.
Hitchhiker's Guide To.The Open Road: A hitchhiker was spotted north of 177th St. N. on southbound Highway 61 on Feb. 10 at 11:27 p.m.
Security Plans Drafted: Someone in the 14000 block of Fondant Ave. N. called at 2:16 p.m. on Feb. 12 to report some suspicious activity. Apparently they found some frozen tracks on their property and, though they didn't notice anything missing from their backyard, someone had some beer taken from their garage in the past. Police advised the complainants to put another lock on their garage.
Steered Toward An Empty Car: A suspicious vehicle was reportedly sitting in the 13000 block of Europa Trail N. on Feb. 12 at 6:49 p.m. Police found that the car was a rental and it was unoccupied.
A Shoulder To Cry On: There were four separate citations for passing on the shoulder of Forest Blvd. at 130th St. N. on Feb. 13 between 7:36 a.m. and 8:16 a.m.
The Man In Black: A man dressed in black was seen walking down 151st St. N. at 1:48 a.m. on Feb. 15. (A Valentine's Day gone sour? Would it have been suspicious if he'd been dressed in red?)
Raining On One's Parade (Of Homes): Some Parade of Homes signs were reported stolen from 147th St. N. and Forest Blvd. N. at 2:33 p.m. on Feb. 15.
I've Been Working On The Railroad: The railroad arms at the Keystone Ave. tracks were going up and down on Feb. 17 at 4:51 p.m. The railroad company was notified of the malfunction.
Looking At The Bright Side: Someone in the 5700 block of 147th St. N. called to report some suspicious activity at 4:03 p.m. on Feb. 19. The complainant apparently saw two men not unknown to them in the complainant's driveway taking apart a snowmobile. They had taken off a green hood, some bright side panels, a gas level float, and a gas cap, and they wanted to throw the unwanted parts in a ditch. The complainant thought that the snowmobile might have been taken from Bald Eagle Lake but there weren't any theft reports on file.
Check On It: A cashier's check in the amount of $23,000 was taken from a motor vehicle parked in a garage of a residence in the 4300 block of Empress Dr. N. sometime on Feb. 19.
Bad Hair Day?: At 8:33 a.m. on Feb. 20 someone from a business in the 14000 block of Victor Hugo Blvd. N. called to report that a man had come in to get a haircut and had come back later to yell and swear at the staff because he said he didn't like his style. The business refunded the customer his money but wanted to see if the appearance of the disgruntled customer on the premises constituted trespassing.
All Along the Watch...Er, Watertower: The water tower at 130th St. N. and Europa Trail N. was reportedly flooding over on Feb. 22 at 3:33 a.m. The water was coming from an overflow pipe. Hugo Public Works was notified.
Lino Lakes Police Reports
This Issue's Statistic: There were seven individuals arrested for outstanding warrants since our last publication.
Pulling A Britney?: On Feb. 1 at 7:44 a.m. police stopped a vehicle in the 1200 block of Main St. and arrested a female driver after cancellation/inimical to public safety and a child restraint violation.
Crash Diet?: At 3:15 a.m. on Feb. 10, Lino Lakes officers assisted the Anoka County Sheriff's Dept. in locating a suspect who had stolen a vehicle out of Lino Lakes.
The suspect had crashed the stolen car in the city of Columbus and stolen another vehicle from Columbus after the accident. Lino Lakes officers observed the stolen car in the 7500 block of Lake Drive and made an arrest. The suspect's charges included theft of a two vehicles, possession of stolen property from the second vehicle, and tampering with a motor vehicle.
Give Me A Signal, Show Me A Sign: Police arrested a driver in the 100 block of Ash St. at 2:13 a.m. on Feb. 14 for third degree DWI, open bottle, and driving after suspension. They pulled the driver over for failing to signal.
Wash Your Plates: Officers stopped a vehicle for an obstructed license plate in the 8300 block of Lake Drive at 10:16 a.m. on Feb. 14. The driver and the passenger both were arrested for fifth degree possession of a controlled substance and transported to jail. Another vehicle was pulled over for an obstructed license plate at 10:26 a.m. on Feb. 19 in the 6800 block of Otter Lake Rd. This driver was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and for obstructed plates.
No-Sense Dog: Two dogs were seen running at large in the 100 block of Connie Lane on Feb. 15 at 5:50 p.m. The owners of the dogs were given multiple citations for a nuisance dog and a dog at large.
Not Seeing The Light: A vehicle collided with a light pole at 6:52 p.m. on Feb. 18 in the 700 block of Apollo Drive. No injuries were reported.
Mad Dash: An unknown suspect entered a vehicle in the 6000 block of Ash St. sometime on Feb. 18 and removed a dash radio.
