Hugo Police Reports
This Issue's Statistic: There was one search warrant executed in Hugo since our last publication.
Pulling the Wool Over Their Eyes: A lamb was reported missing from the 6700 block of 132nd St. N. on July 9th at 3:55 p.m.; it had been missing for two days.
Don't Mess with Texas: On July 12 at 8:12 a.m. someone from 140th Ave. N. and Hyde Ave N. reported a suspicious vehicle. It had Texas plates on it and the driver turned out to be a solicitor who had a permit to sell.
Carrier Pigeons (and Thieves) Get Carried Away: Fifteen carrier pigeons worth $200 each were stolen along with two chickens from the 13000 block of Elmcrest Ave. N. on July 12 at 3:56 p.m. It turns out that three people were looking into purchasing some pigeons at this address and they had said that they lived across the highway and were going home. The owners realized that the animals were gone later in the day when they saw that the lock on the coop was broken. This crime happened in two separate incidents. One adult and two juveniles admitted to the theft and were booked on felony theft and misdemeanor. The charges are pending.
Deconstructing Construction Regulations: On July 14 at 6:52 a.m. a construction crew reportedly started working a little earlier than was permitted in the 6500 block of 145th Circle N. They were informed that they needed to wait to start until 7:00 a.m.
The Benefits and Drawbacks: Someone stole the proceeds from a benefit at the American Legion on 140th St. N. The crime was reported on July 16 at 12:41 p.m. The person who made off with the goods agreed to repay the donation funds.
Don't Miss the Boat: A boat was parked on the side of the road at 159th St. N. and Farnham Ave. N. on July 16 at 6:27 a.m. It turned out that it was not an illegal park and the boat was determined to not be a traffic hazard.
Getting Creamed: Vandalism to a vehicle was reported in the 5900 block of Freeland Ct. N. on July 17 at 2:04 a.m. The registered owner of the Jeep Cherokee found some sliced cheese and shaving cream on their vehicle. The damage was washable.
Raked Over the Coals: An individual in an RV with Wyoming plates was parked at the end of Geneva Ave. N. at 150th St. N. on July 20 at 3:50 p.m. The owner had a picnic table out and a grill set up but there were not any houses on the street, which appeared suspicious to the complainant. Police tried to contact the registered owner but could not locate anyone. Since the RV was not blocking anything, they decided that the issue could wait until they could speak to this person.
The Growing List of Problems: Someone dumped some sod and grass in a ditch in the 13000 block of Homestead Ave. N. on July 21 at 7:48 p.m. The driver of a truck had apparently broken down and had to unload some of their belongings to get their truck to move. They said that they would be back to retrieve these but as far as the complainant could see they had not returned.
Police investigated and the truck owner said that they would return and remove the items. "I Just Want to Bang on My Drum All Day": Someone was playing their drums too loudly in their garage in the 4000 block of Empress Way N. at 1:02 a.m. on July 22.
A Happy Camper: There was a camper on the road for three days at 150th St. N. just west of Goodview Ave. N. This was reported on July 22 at 10:29 a.m. The owner stated that the city would allow the camper to be there for 72 hours.
This Stinks!: Some vandalism occurred to a vehicle in the 5000 block of Freeland Ct. N. on July 22 at 11:48 p.m. It turns out that two women had put Vaseline and lotion on a car as a joke.
Private School Information: Someone reported a suspicious person in the 12000 block of Irish Ave. N. on July 23 at 10:50 a.m. Someone was going door to door and asking residents if they had children and, if so, which school they were enrolled in. The woman turned out to have a soliciting permit and was selling elementary school books.
A Slow Response?: The yellow traffic lights were not working at Freeman Rd. N. and Otter Lake Rd. on July 23 at 8:07 p.m.
Lino Lakes Police Reports
This Issue's Statistic: There was one motorcycle accident injury in Lino Lakes since our last publication.
Mounting Evidence: Someone entered a locked vehicle in the 7400 block of Sunset Ave. sometime during nighttime hours on July 11 by breaking the driver's side window. The person stole a purse. A BMX bicycle was left in the complainant's yard, possibly by the suspect, and was placed in the Lino Lakes property room.
Revolutionary War: A bicycle was reported missing from a yard in the 1300 block of Hunters Ridge sometime on July 11. It was a BMX bike
A Run For Your Money: A wallet was stolen from a locked vehicle in the 1300 block of Hunters Ridge on the night of July 11. Later in the day, the wallet was found at the end of a driveway but its contents were missing.
"Survey-or Said!": A homeowner in the 7800 block of 24th Ave. had an argument at their residence with a surveyor at 2:03 p.m. on July 11. Both the homeowner and the surveyor were cited for disorderly conduct.
Got a Light?: On July 14 at 11:13 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle at Lake Dr. and 35W for not having a license plate light. The driver was cited for this and also for possession of drug paraphernalia.
High Court: An officer stopped a vehicle at 12:21 p.m. at an unknown location in Lino Lakes on July 14 because the tabs on the car were expired. The driver admitted to having a marijuana pipe in the car. After further questioning and a thorough search, two bags of marijuana were found in the passenger compartment. The driver was cited for possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle and expired tabs.
Sinister Designs for the Goods: Someone stole about a yard of gray 2.5 to 3.0 inch landscaping rock from a yard in the 1500 block of Stoney Brook Drive sometime between July 14 and July 15. There are no suspects at this time and the rock was valued at $400.
Walking After Midnight: Police observed 2 juvenile females walking with a male on July 16 around midnight. Police identified the individuals, cited the females for curfew violation, and returned them to their parents.
Got (a) Pink-eye?: A bike was found in 1100 block of South Trappers Crossing 8:36 p.m. on July 18. It was a pink girl's bike and was placed in the Police Department's property room until claimed by the owner.
Capturing the Flag...Suspect: Someone damaged a light and a flag pole in the 700 block of Main St. on July 18 at an unknown time.
Naughty Naughty: A juvenile male was cited for a tobacco violation in the 100 block of Pony Court at 4:25 a.m. on July 19.
Thanks for Your Input (Wires): Someone forced entry into the back of a truck in the 7100 block of Sunrise Dr. sometime during nighttime hours on July 20 and removed a tamper and a spool of low voltage wire.
You Reap What You Mow: Two abandoned lawn mowers were found in the cul-de-sac of Rice Lake Dr. at 8:09 a.m. on July 21. They were placed in the Lino Lakes property room.
Keepin' Watch: A watch, a cell phone and a tackle box were taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 7100 block of Rice Lake Dr. on July 21 during night hours.
Centerville Police Reports
This Issue's Statistic: There were two incidents with obstruction of the legal process in Centerville since our last publication.
No One To Be Charged?: On July 19 at 7:36 a.m. there was a report of a theft of some tools and a cell phone charger. These items were taken from a locked vehicle in the 7000 block of Centerville Rd. There are no suspects at the present time.
